Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Honshu

Yuya was a great host, fed us complimentary breakfasts and changed our linen and took out our rubbish during the day while we were out! when we first arrived he had the heater on ready for our arrival, a nice cozy touch after a long day of travel. Yuyas stay felt like a home away from home. super cozy and welcoming. the garden outside was stunning, even more so in the rain. if you're looking for a homely place to come and relax during your trip we recommend this place for sure. super close and easy to walk to the train station and other places, food/hikes ect. There are bikes offered for use too, best way to get around the area. and if you're in for a good leg workout head up to the salamander museum about an hour bike ride from the stay. halfway through our 3 week trip is this has been our favourite place since arriving in Japan. There was a parking lot, so it was nice to have a car. The host couple welcomed us kindly. Both the bedroom and bathroom were as good as a luxury hotel. The room is warm, and there is a wood stove in the living room. It is close to the highway and close to Himeji Castle, so it is very good for sightseeing by car.

Our family felt so welcomed by Yuriko and her family. Delicious breakfast. The electric bikes were very useful for exploring around Mashiko. Yuriko was also willing to drop us off and pick up in her car. Generous ceramic gifts to take home. Such wonderfully warm hearted hosts, who we highly recommend if you are staying in Mashiko.

Loved our stay! Super warm, cosy, and homey with a great location – close to the ski lifts and gondolas, which made waddling up in our boots much much easier; and close to the main street, which was very convenient for dinner and shopping. Leo and Linda were so hospitable and welcomed us warmly. Felt like we were greeted by old friends :') Big thank you to Ellie and Cam as well for hosting us at the lodge, and for the great breakfasts! All in all, we left with full hearts and new friends.

Nozawa Dream was amazing!!

We felt right at home in this shared house space. The amenities were clean and readily available. The host was very friendly to greet us and accommodate any questions we had.

Our stay at Abiya was very pleasant. We have met people from around the world, even a couple from Belgium where I have profound youth memories. Yoshi and Seongmin are excellent hosts who treated guests like family and looking constantly at our well being. It is definitely the place I will go back. Thanks Yoshi and Seongmin again and take care!

Mickey, Mary and their team were great hosts. They have been very helpful and friendly and they took great care of us. We had an amazing week skiing in Hakuba with a great place to rest in the evenings.

Motoko was very hospitable, and used some English with us since we couldn't speak much Japanese. She also made us breakfast-to-order each day which was *amazing*. The overall environment felt warm and welcoming, and me and my two co-guests were very comfortable. You should know that this is someone's home with a shared kitchen/living room. You and your fellow guests have a more private living space which includes a washing area, bedrooms and other necessities. (and the host has her own space upstairs as well, so you still have a fair amount of privacy regardless). As long as you're ok with that, this will be a great stay!

This guest house is will be the best choice. The host tommy is very kind and mindful. He speaks english very well, so someone who didn't speak japanese will be satified. Also, the domitory bed was very nice. It's cozy and comfotable. And Tommy will give you breakfast If you request. The toast was tasty. I recommend this guest house, you will not regret your choice. I'm a super light sleeper and there was no street noise at all. Very quiet. Great Japanese hot breakfast (fish, egg, rice, vegetables). I would stay there again.

Staying here was the best part of my trip. Chieri is an amazing host and I had a great time getting to know some of the locals in the area.

I had a very happy time here.🥰 The owner and his wife are very friendly and warm, and when you stay here, you can fully enjoy the life of the locals as if you were returning to your own home.The breakfast prepared by the host is also delicious and enthusiastically searches for information and ideas. They were really kind and friendly, and I couldn't express the happiness and peace I felt here in words, and it was really unfortunate. I recommend this place 1000%!️

This little place is a gem and the hosts are amazing! Though you can’t ski in/out, the hosts will give you a lift to any resort for the day and pick you up. They can also drive you to the restaurants in Akakura town. You can even order dinner in and the food was delicious! I would stay here again if I was visiting the area in the future.
