Very peaceful and relaxing! Felt just like home. The fireplace added a cozy touch that I loved.

Beautiful property, visited a ton of state parks then came back and relaxed in the hot tub, really made for a memorable time. Hosts are really responsive and helpful. The property is nice, very clean and private, the fireplace is wonderful. Really enjoyed the surrounding towns and hiking spots. Beautiful scenery all around, the parks.

Our stay was absolutely lovely. The property was quiet, and perfect for a two night couples get-away. We were able to bring our two goldens, which was such a treat since that meant we could take them hiking with us on Panther’s Den Loop and Ferne Clyffe State Park. Gorgeous trails by the way! The guidebook provided was detailed and thoughtful, and the optional add ons were a huge hospitality bonus. Thank you for a special stay at your beautiful property!

My family and I LOVED this place. I would honestly say it’s even more beautiful in person. This place was such a WOW! I’d love to experience this cabin during the Summer months. It was a great stay! Close to a beautiful parks and trails! Easy to get to and from. Great place for recharging our batteries! Very good fireplace and a nice small stream by the cabin!

Our stay at the cabin was amazing! The cabin was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked, making for a perfect getaway. What truly stood out was their incredible hospitality—after it snowed about 4 inches overnight, Tom went above and beyond to ensure we were safe, had the stairs accessible, and even offered a refund if we needed to leave early or a later checkout the following day. Their communication was excellent, and they made us feel so welcome. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to come back, hopefully in the warmer months to enjoy the lake!

My wife and I stayed at Tim and Mary's cabin for 3 nights as part of a quiet New Year's getaway. The cabin was perfect - clean, quiet and cozy with a nice gas fireplace. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is very workable with hotplate burners, convection oven and microwave. There is a outdoor grill too, which we did not have to press into service. Hot tub was nice too on some chilly days. Wooded land surrounds. There is another cabin on the property but removed from your own at a far enough distance that you'll forget it's there. But mainly, I just wanted to say that the cabin interior is gorgeous. Dark wood walls and Native American art, and modern in key ways. Very relaxing.

The Cedar Cabin was peaceful, clean and relaxing! The hot tub was wonderful and the forest surrounding the backyard/deck was full of wildlife. The location was easy to find and there was a nice little trail on the property. Very close to restaurants nearby in Carbondale or Marion. Cedar Cabin was far enough from the other cabins that it felt quite private. Great little getaway to a cabin in the woods for our annual Valentine’s trip. (the cabin stay is always our gift to each other for Valentines Day) 26 years together, our 7th year married(in April), and our 6th annual Valentine Cabin trip! 🌲🖤✨❄️

The place was great. I’d recommend Giant City State Park which was very close by for hiking and lots more. This was a great country getaway and was very peaceful. Will definitely come back.

Perfect place to stay, very well kept

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was perfect and in such a great location! The hot tub that they have is a salt spa and made your skin feel great after! They even have a trail to hike on their property! Everything was very well thought out and we look forward to future stays!

The property was gorgeous. We loved taking walks around the cabin. The hot tub was perfect and relaxing. The bed and furniture was super comfy - which is always a plus! Loved being on the wine trail with plenty of places within a short drive. It was the perfect getaway to relax and recoup.

We spent a wonderful weekend with friends at Gail's place. The space was a great size for two couples and two dogs. We felt right at home, and had everything we needed throughout the stay. The house was conveniently located -- just short drives to a number of hiking options and wineries. The property was lovely and felt very private. Gail was proactive and friendly in communication. We had a great stay!

This cabin was breathtaking! The scenery just on the property surrounding the cabin is magical and so vast. It looks exactly as it does in the pictures, I just feel the lone picture of the outside doesn’t do it justice. There is so much beautiful pristine land that you can just walk out the front door and stare into nature all day. The distance to The Shawnee wine trail can’t be beat. Mike and Andrea were great hosts. We will certainly be back!

Larry was very responsive and accommodating. Checked to make sure we were able to get in and that our stay was going smoothly. Everything was as described with special touches added to make sure we felt right at home during our stay. We were pleasantly surprised when Larry’s wife dropped off a delicious fresh baked good. We will definitely be staying with them again.

Brian’s place was so nice and clean. We had a few questions about the area and Brian was very quick to respond. His recommendations for restaurants and wineries were spot on!

I can’t wait to go back. This is a perfect location for Chicagolanders looking to get a break away from home.

We loved our stay at Larry's cabin. It is unique, cozy and spotless, and located in a private, beautiful country setting. There's a lovely walk down Paul Ice Rd. to Lake Kincaid, 1 mile away. A nice boat landing is located there, as well as shady picnic areas We also liked that it was easy driving distance from the cabin to the Shawnee National Forest. Nice hiking trails, as well as the famous Snake Rd. (LaRue/Pine Hills) with an amazing number of snakes and amphibians, of great interest to herpers and naturalists. Only a 10-14 minute drive to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Larry's is a helpful and responsive host, and we will definitely stay here again if in the area. 5 stars!

Other than a little hard to find in the dark the stay was well worth it. Thank you for the short notice accommodations.

Quaint space in a secluded area. Lots of wildlife and great back porch space. We had plenty of hot water for our showers too, which was perfect after spending a day in the outdoors.
