The Pearl of Whakatiwai

The Pearl of Whakatiwai. A completely restored Bed/kitchen/dining room with separate shower and toilet. This house was built in the 50's and so we have lovingly recreated the whole 50's vibe for your enjoyment. Right on the edge of the Firth of Thames you can lie in bed and see the views that go on forever. A great little kitchen with new oven and fridge, plus all the tools you need if you want a "foodie" get away. We do not have a TV, but great WiFi. Great fishing right on your doorstep.

Welcome to our private romantic getaway at Hereford Cottage. Located in Whakatiwai, north of Kaiaua with a backdrop of the Hunua ranges. We absolutely love living here and thought we would like to share one of our favourite places with others. We offer a beautiful one-bedroom cottage with a lovely outdoor wood fire tub and a romantic little area with a firepit, nestled in a natural setting with views of a stream, native bush and native birds. Enjoy a night or a couple of nights here with us.

A quiet stopover spot for travelers or a base for those working or visiting the area. Great base for Hampton Downs visitors. Cafes and supermarket are close by in the village. The unit is self-contained, quiet and private yet close to the Waikato Expressway, 7 mins from Hampton Downs, 30 -40 mins to Hamilton & Thames and less than 1 hour to Auckland airport off peak. Continental breakfast supplies are included for you to use if you wish. Microwave, toaster, frig and electric jug .

A beautiful cottage set apart from Homestead in park like, private, rural setting on dry stock block. Easy access to cycle trails, Kauaeranga valley bush walks (The Pinnacles) & fishing spots. We are perfectly situated for easy day trips to Hot water beach or Cathedral cove & many other Coromandel beaches. We are 5 mins drive to Thames town, cafes & restaurants. Come relax & unwind & recharge your batteries. We are 1 hour 20 mins from Auckland international Airport. Sorry no late check-out.

It is the perfect retreat, a place to break up your journey or as a base for the many tourist, cycling or walking activities the Waikato has to offer. The cabin has a queen-sized bed with ensuite. Escape to a lovely tranquil setting in this romantic eco based retreat surrounded by nature situated only 1.5 hours from Auckland. Perfect in any weather. Situated at the start of the Kauearanga Valley with numerous bush walks and river swimming nearby. Close to the rail trail for biking or into town for a coffee.
