Holiday rentals in Market Overton

The cabin was absolutely lovely. So clean and cosy. Pleasantly surprised to find things like blankets, little led candles, big fluffy towels, lots of board games. It was very comfy and homely. The location was very peaceful. Not much for children to do outside the cabin itself, but we expected that - would recommend bringing bikes for kids. We had nice sunshine to enjoy the outdoor decking & seats to see the sun go down behind the trees. Jean was very friendly and quick to respond.

We really enjoyed our stay - the flat was spotless, tastefully furnished and in a great location. The check‑in process was smooth and the host was responsive throughout. My only small gripe was the rigidity around check‑in and check‑out times. Check‑in wasn’t available until 4 PM, and check‑out strictly at 10 AM (with a hefty £35 fee to arrive earlier). Our cleaner arrived at 10:15 AM, which felt a little tight. If the host could offer even a 30‑minute buffer on either end, it would make arrivals and departures much more relaxed. Overall, highly recommended - just be aware of the fixed times!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The house is comfortable, well equipped and spotless. It had everything we needed, including good size mugs and a teapot! Marie and Ben gave clear and easy instructions on how to get into the house and further information was in the house , if you needed it. Marie was in touch to check we were ok during our stay, which was kind. The garden was a sun-trap, making a tranquil place to rest after exploring the area. It's a perfect location, quiet, easy parking, an attractive village (with walks from the front door) and a pub 2 minutes walk away. We could not think of anything we would add here - a perfect place to stay - we'll definitely back.

Our short stay at Fox Cottage was amazing. The property is beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The views are spectacular! Andrew was a great host, very responsive and helpful and we really appreciated the very kind welcome hamper! Loads to do and see and there were even toys for our young son to play with! We loved it so much we’ve booked for next year!

Amazing stay! The place was immaculate, lovely living room area, well stocked kitchen and cosy bedroom. Looks even nicer than the photos! Lots of nice little touches like milk in the fridge, tea bags, coffee, blankets and a speaker. We enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony overlooking the countryside view. Will definitely be back!

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. Amazing place to stay if you’re looking for something quiet and peaceful. Moreover, Jules and Paul were incredible hosts and made us feel like home. Can’t wait to visit again soon

Overall it was fantastic and would recommend staying here for the immediate surroundings. We had fantastic weather for April so we could sit out on the patio and enjoy the view and the kids enjoyed the garden which was big enough to play football and rounders in. The only nitpick we had were the towels provided were very hard and scratchy and after using a lovely bath or shower the towels were not nice to use. So maybe bring your own in case they are not replaced soon. Although this did not affect us as the weather was great. If it did rain a lot and you were stuck in the downstairs lounge or dining area has no view of the lovely lake you can see from outside. There are views from upstairs main bedroom windows though.

Lovely place to stay! The host Abigail was very helpful and responsive. The hut itself was spotless and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again
