Holiday rentals with breakfast in Nakagyo Ward

Yoko is a very warm and wonderful host. she is very helpful to provide travel tips and recommendations. This house source is very clean and comfortable. the location is very convenient and calm. I have no doubt to stay there again and recommend Yoko's Abnb to all.

I stayed here solo and the place is quite big for one person, not to mention everything is beautiful! The space is pretty much like a boutique hotel, except even better because Yoko San is an incredibly kind host that’s not just taking care of a beautiful guesthouse but also cultivating community and helping all of us play a part in appreciating the craft history and culture of Kyoto. I kept reading Kyoto is over crowded but this neighbourhood was serene and it really made me appreciate the city even more now, I also met some lovely people and we even had a special event on New Year’s Eve. There’s just too many kind gestures to mention, even at 7 am Yoko san dropped me off at the nearest train station… so so so much value and honestly a traveler’s dream because you get your privacy but also a wonderful community to get involved with if you would like and all in a stunning space. Thank you so much!

Thank you to the host for the hospitality, dedication, enthusiasm for my 2 daughters when they stayed here. They were extremely happy and pleased to have been received, taken care of by the host. This house is very new, clean and very convenient to visit in Kyoto. If there is a chance we will stop by again. Don't know what to say more than thank the host very much and highly recommend everyone should stay here.

Recommended to all friends who go to Kyoto, lily's enthusiasm moved our family, all the little details will be good for the guests, will give us the opinion during the trip, the day of the trip🥟, the dumplings are also specially packed for us, the dumpling is the first night for lily, will make egg cakes for our baby baby. If you want to spend a relaxing trip in Kyoto, then I highly recommend staying here, lily will help you like family, hope to visit Kyoto again one day!

Larry's place was beyond my expectation! It was beautiful and quiet, and felt traditional but also like home rather than hotel rooms or those Airbnbs that feel like they are just for Airbnb. The room downstairs is huge, and the whole house is very clean and nice. Larry is extremely nice as well! He picked my up from the closest metro station exit, and showed me everything I needed to know. He also gave me local sightseeing recommendations with his hand drawn maps. There's a dog and a little cute cat that he recently rescued, and they didn't bother me at all. Kyoto is not a big city so his location is not too remote. There's a uphill road towards the house though, and the main streets are also going uphill if you are coming from west to the east. So be prepared for some exercise, whether or not you choose to ride a bike or just walking. Larry also provided a bike, which was a good bike, beautiful with a convenient lock, automatic lights, and shifting gears.

I stayed here for 5 nights in winter as a base to work remotely for a couple of days before exploring Kyoto. It was exactly what I was looking for: a quiet hideaway not far from the main city area, with good wifi, and a host that I can practice Japanese with. The house is on top of a hill with splendid views. I can imagine how lovely it’ll look when it snows, when the Sakura blooms or during autumn. I was kept warm and comfortable with the kotatsu, electric blanket, access to a kitchenette and hot water shower/bath. I met a couple of interesting house mates too. Keiko-san is the loveliest host and prepares a delicious breakfast for you daily. She also makes sure to drive me to and back from the train station (only a 15min straight train to Kyoto station). I will miss our little chats on the car rides. This space is perfect for anyone looking to escape the crowds of the city, take it slow, and experience local living. This is a different Kyoto and one that I really like.

Easily the best AirBnB experience we’ve had. Yoko’s place is a perfect place to stay in Kyoto, but it’s much more than just a place to rest your head. Yoko is helpful beyond words and goes out of her way to assist and make you feel at home. I can’t praise her or her house enough.

This guest house is will be the best choice. The host tommy is very kind and mindful. He speaks english very well, so someone who didn't speak japanese will be satified. Also, the domitory bed was very nice. It's cozy and comfotable. And Tommy will give you breakfast If you request. The toast was tasty. I recommend this guest house, you will not regret your choice. this was an amazing value for money stay within Kyoto. The room is traditional but has everything you need and even comes with a warm Japanese kimono in the wardrobe to use during the stay. great views across kyoto, great location for getting around and delicious breakfast. The host allowed us to leave our luggage and he was so friendly, with suggestions, welcoming conversation, and made us feel so at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!

I'm a super light sleeper and there was no street noise at all. Very quiet. Great Japanese hot breakfast (fish, egg, rice, vegetables). I would stay there again.

😍Well all comments about Tanaka san and his wife Machiko san are true but can't really describe how this people are simply amazing, wonderful and so generous. The japanese style house is so cozy with everything for us. The Tanaka homemade onsen is so relaxing...even more after a wagyu bbq night with a glass of japanese whisky (thank you Tanaka 😉). Thank you Machiko for your breakfest plenty of love and flavor. Thank you for your help with our laundry. Last comment (more usefull), house is just beside of bus stop (seriously best way to travel in Kyoto). The bus stop is a city bus but also JR bus stop include with many JR and JR west pass.

Staying here was the best part of my trip. Chieri is an amazing host and I had a great time getting to know some of the locals in the area.

Second time staying at papa mama’s home, will definitely come to visit again and again!
