Family-friendly holiday rentals in Newbury

We absolutely loved our stay at rectory retreat, the setting was beautiful and it was so peaceful. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very cleverly thought out. The hot tub looking out onto open fields under the stars was the cherry on the cake! Would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a fab 3 nights in the Safari Tent. It was clean and was exactly as described. The instructions for lighting the stove were very handy. Mel was a great host and responded to any queries we had. We will defo be booking again.

Absolutely brilliant place. Nicola was a fantastic host. Breakfast was a lovely touch and very appreciated. Would highly recommend to anyone ! And the hot tub was a brilliant facility to have :) Would 100% stay again !!!

What a wonderful place to stay. The peace I sought was found, the relaxation that was so much needed was there and very much welcomed. Days spent walking in the New Forest were finished with a chilled glass of wine in the hot tub that was tended daily by a really lovely chap. The lodge was spacious, clean and comfortable with the basics of equipment there for your use, which is helpful. The whole experience is one I shall repeat and have already begun to tell others to check it out too

We loved our stay in this stunning home! Two fab pubs just outside which had been recommended to us by the host, along with lots of other helpful tips. Parking wasn't too much of an issue for us, but be warned the village was quite crowded with tourists, even at this time of year. Didn't bother us too much but we weren't really expecting it! We loved the house and really loved that there were some logs left so that we could have a cosy fire in the log burner. Stairs are a bit of a death trap (this was to our amusement) but host had warned us about those so we were aware of what we were getting ourselves into! People with limited mobility would need to take this into account when booking. Really appreciated we were able to bring a dog too, and there were some lovely walks around the area, umbrellas and wellies were at the property which was also really helpful. Overall a really beautiful unique property, ideal for a cosy winter stay!

We loved our stay in the Annex. It was very cozy and the grounds were beautiful with lots to do. We brought our dog with us and he loved the fenced paddock and field across the road. Our daughter loved the kids play area and we also had great fun on the massive trampoline! Runner ducks and peacocks in the garden! Winchester was a 20 min drive. All-in-all a brilliant few days!

The amenities, dining facilities and seating arrangements were absolutely perfect for four couples. Amazing views of the lake from the master bedroom, patio and lounge. We all loved it!

We spent a lovely Christmas here as a family of four with our dog pepper. Lovely decor, amenities, kitchen full of everything you need, lots of games for us to play. Great location, lots of fab dog walks, great shops nearby - overall a fantastic stay!

Every aspect of the visit exceeded our expectations. Can't say better than that!

We had such a wonderful stay, so much so we didn’t want to leave. Hilary was such a welcoming host and the cottage was so beautiful. Our whole family loved the cottage and we definitely want to come back. There’s so much to do in the area too. There’s lots of toys at the cottage for kids, including bath toys and a really cute outdoor kids dining table. Once the kids were in bed it was also so lovely and cosy for the adults. The pianos were also a great touch, we loved playing them and teaching the kids how to play. We would recommend the stay to everyone.

My family loved our stay at Old Forge. Our children— aged 4 and 7– had a blast running around the yard and having their own secluded room on the upper level. We all enjoyed the rustic wildlife decor and the lovely view of the field. The cottage was cozy yet spacious, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Make sure to get dinner at the local spot— The Golden Ball Inn! Stow was a very short drive away with plenty of nice shops and restaurants and a Tesco for our grocery needs. We didn’t end up getting a chance to walk the paths nearby, but we saw plenty of spots we could have done so— and with any luck someday we can return to Old Forge and get to walk around. I’d highly recommend Old Forge for anyone staying in the Cotswolds, esp with children!

We had a wonderful family stay at Paul's AirBnB. The home is perfect for a family or friends trip. Great rooms, huge open plan kitchen/ living area and a larder for storage with washing machine/ dish washer. We honestly would give more than 5 stars if we could. If you're looking for a beautiful home, amazing views and great walks (or short drives) to local landmarks (or pubs!) then look no further. Our toddler (20 months) had a great time in the gated garden or using the New Forest as his play area, and was beside himself when the horses would walk right past the house. Paul was on hand to answer any questions we had, an excellent host! We'd absolutely stay again!

Instantly felt at home in the Turkey house. Great for our dog with the fenced-in garden. Located in a great place for walks (we did the East Meon circular and Buriton circular walks) and a mere 40 minute walk from the marvellous “Harrow Inn” which I would recommend everyone to go to. Loved our time there. Thank you.

Didi's place is well appointed and very comfortable with fab shower. great having two living spaces for options, location is good too! Loved how the morning sun streamed into the dining area. Gorgeous way to start the day! Only things to note if you have young children you plan to have in the twin room is that it is at the other end of the house to the master & 2nd bedroom, up a separate staircase which wasn't particularly an issue for us but I imagine for young kids that might pose a concern with not being near or being able to hear them if needed as they'd need to navigate a narrow staircase, go through three rooms and up another flight of stairs to find you. There is also a gap under the gate in the courtyard that any small or medium sized dog could (and ours did) go wandering off under, directly into the (albeit very quiet) road. It's not a reflection on Didi though, can't be helped due to lay of land, but worth noting for those bringing pets. None of this would stop us returning

We had an absolutely fantastic time with the family. The property is set on a beautiful farm surrounded by nature, with horses and sheep all around. The area is stunning and peaceful — we enjoyed every minute of it. Tony was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially for nature lovers.

What a beautiful home to spend some time with family and friends. The pool, hot tub and trampoline were absolutely amazing. We had perfect weather for outdoor entertainment. The kitchen was so full of everything you’d ever need! They really have thought of everything. It was like home from home Super comfortable beds We would highly recommend to a any family wanting a weekend doing nothing but pool fun with the kids x

If you are looking for a home from home or an upgrade from home, this is the place to stay. Arrived from Melbourne and immediately settled into the joy of living in the countryside. Although too cold to enjoy the pool, we did use the tennis court and shot some hoops. We walked to Old Thorns Golf and Country Club and can recommend Katie's Coffee bar. It's an easy walk amongst stunning scenery. We walked back via the Foley Estate from the Deers Hut pub. Liphook is so lucky to have not one but two stunningly beautiful golf courses. If their is a heaven on earth, we must have stayed in its guest house!

Nicky was a great host and the house was very clean, well kitted out and a lovely relaxing place to stay. My girls loved the tennis court and we would definitely visit again.

Me and my husband had a lovely stay here and was exactly like the photos, the Airbnb is sooo cute and perfect for what we needed, great communication and loads of recommendation’s. The view from the Airbnb in stunning too, so lovely waking up and exploring the local towns and walk ing trails. The pancakes were a lovely touch too, a few pubs in walking distance which also have descriptive directions to get there in the booklet, which we followed.. we had such a lovely Easter weekend, thank you so much.

Our second time at this gorgeous old cottage. Felt at home. So peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful area with fantastic walks and pubs. Would highly recommend if you are looking to get away and want a traditional cottage to relax in.

The barn is beautiful and very well fitted out. Fabulous setting, absolutely stunning and super peaceful and quiet. The one bathroom was challenging at times with a party of adults but the rest of the barn is faultless and such a joy to stay in. The tennis court and other amenities were fabulous.

Me and my partner had the best time at Tara’s place, it was peaceful and so beautiful. Tara was very helpful and lovely when we checked in and her dog is very friendly. It was very clean and homely, the hot tub was ready for us as soon as we got there and it was as exactly as described. We had so much fun, thank you Tara!

Another lovely weekend break at The Barn. It's a perfect space for our group of friends to catch up and chill out. Always spotless and clean. We lucked out with the weather and the pool and tennis court got some good use. We had a lovely 6 mile walk around the Surrey Hills with the beautiful Abinger Hatch pub a half way point. Daniel was very welcoming and friendly and accessible to answer our queries. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils and crockery but we forgot cling film and foil, so bring some if you think you will be using it. There is a lovely outdoor seating area and dining table which was a lovely afternoon sun trap. All in all a perfect stay and we will be coming again next year!
