We had an amazing time! Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you can possibly think of! Kitchen basics the works. Views are amazing and the staff are super friendly!! The one thing that was very disappointing was the swimming pool. It was dirty after the rain. We requested they come and clean and get the pump going but no one came. Fortunately we had cooler weather but had it been warm throughout our stay this would have been a big frustration since we have young children. Based on expectations created the pool should really recieve more attention.

Such a lovely house. So much character and charm. The pictures don't do it justice. Really enjoyed our visit there, will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.

We spent a wonderful Christmas week at the Flying Scotsman. The house is a gem with all the interesting light features, photos and memorabilia built around the theme. The layout of the house suited our needs with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for three generations. The amazing views from the stoep and every bedroom are spectacular and food for the soul. We saw many animals from the stoep and even an otter in the river. The house has all the amenities and facilities to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We enjoyed the braai facilities and “jacuzzi” as we named the sink round swimming pool. The playroom/TV room was a treasure awaiting to be discovered by old and young. We did some fly-fishing, walking/hiking and visiting the lodge. This is truly a comfortable house for a family get together in a beautiful location. We enjoyed every minute.

We had a wonderful weekend. The service is excellent. Great spot for bird watching. Had great fun with the canoe and then a dip in the pool! Just such a beautiful, relaxing space to be in.

Review for Mooiplaats: What a lovely, little farm getaway. Bea and her husband, Wim, are amazing hosts and great people. The BnB is fitted with all you need to enjoy a peaceful and lovely time. Surrounded by the sounds of the farm at night, the little farm house is private and perfect. They also have their own butchery with the best bacon ever! I would highly recommend this gem to anyone with an appreciation of farmstyle living. The surrounding area also has an amazing "Melkery". So between lovely cheeses and great meat, you are sorted. And for R75pp, lovely Bea might organise a tasty farmhouse breakfast... 5/5.

Hi Jackie, We really, really enjoyed every moment we stayed at The Trout and Butterfly, we felt safe and we had everything we needed. No having Wifi was a problem for us! My dog enjoyed sniffing around this beautiful home! A big thanks to Sannie, she too care of all the cleaning with a smile, even on Sunday!! My children enjoyed fishing and cycling in the beautiful country. We will surely will visit Dullstroom and The Trout and Butterfly again. Thank you for everything! Jolene.

Absolutely perfect peaceful getaway! Beautiful surroundings, plenty of space to walk with the dogs. Perfect place to curl up with a book and read to my heart's content. big bonus that there is no cell phone signal. Spacious and fully equipped. Very pet-friendly!

If you are going to Dullstroom, I would recommend visiting the farm. A perfect getaway from the city, the road is around 20km of dirt road and isn’t the best drive but it was totally worth it. Beautiful, peaceful and so much to do. Angela was very responsive and accommodating.

I stayed at Stoney Brooke for 3 months, all my needs where met, they are very accomodating, I loved staying there, the peace and quiet is very good for the soul. I will stay there again next year.

The hosts are divine and the cottage is delightful with the wide open garden with roaming buck is really just gorgeous and peaceful. A total delight!! The dirt road drive from the main road is a bit hectic. We were in a small car and after the rain, had to drive extremely slowly to avoid the potholes and craters, so it added about 20 minutes to our travel time. Can highly recommend though, it was perfect for our overnight needs.

HI Paul We had the most wonderful time! The surroundings are beautiful, and the house is magnificent, it is cozy and cute and so easy to relax and live in. Our children loved the patio and the dams and spent hours walking around. We loved the fireplaces, beautiful and well-equipped kitchen and the stunning main bedroom. There was literally everything we needed, from a fan to a hairdryer to a bottle opener and beautiful flowers on the table. And we were so surprised to realise that the house was serviced on a daily basis - what a treat! We would certainly return to visit your little slice of heaven.
