Manuela and Walter are incredibly sweet and welcoming people who went out of their way to make sure we felt at home in their bungalow. They have a beautiful flower garden and trees which provide privacy from the street. Manuela cleaned the room every day and made sure we were comfortable and had privacy. She also arranged a kayak tour for us nearby. The family is native to the island and made available lots of recommendations for food and tours which support native islanders. We were not able to swim as we came during the off-season for the beach and the waves were high and strong, but Manuela told us that the sandy beach season starts in March and April which is also when many of the trees are in bloom! It was very easy to find other accessible swim locations as the house is located conveniently on the isthmus between both volcanoes. Lastly, make sure you do not miss out on breakfast! We had their pancakes with fruit and the gallo pinto with sausage which were both super delicious.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt this home away from home. The cabin is very comfortable yet rustic and close to nature. We woke up super zen, with the sounds of howler monkeys on the background and the view over the volcano, really doesn’t get any better! Our only regret is not staying longer. The breakfast in the morning is fresh and delicious and the hosts are friendly and respond quickly.

We felt warmly welcomed by Linda from the very first minute and thoroughly enjoyed every moment in her beautiful little house. Our expectations of the accommodation were more than fulfilled. The idea of a ski lodge in Nicaragua was a bit funny but somehow the Bavarian feel and great breezes are very cooling on hot days. The wi-fi is great and there is a covered deck overlooking the jungle making a great place for online working. The house even has a battery backup system. The pool is directly across the road and is shading making it a cool refreshing plunge. A/C in all rooms is a nice break.

What a wonderful stay with Federico & Birte! Both of them the kindest hosts, always looking to be of service. The casita itself is great too, stylish and has everything you need to be self sufficient, even when the power goes down. The location on the lake is amazing and has the best sunset views. We were looking for peace and quiet and totally got it here. Highly recommend :)

The coolest most beautiful place i have ever stayed in my life. I never wanted to leave. You are on the water and can hear the sounds of the lake as you sleep. I would definitely recommend staying here. The ants were pretty bad so be mindful of that but other than that the place is perfect. I will be coming here again for sure.

Nicol’s apartment is absolutely beautiful. I loved it! It’s super well-equipped, spotless, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nicol is incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect, right in front of the lake, with parking available and a very safe environment. I definitely hope to come back!

Thank you for the amazing time in your home. We appreciate the beach and views of the volcanoes. The peaceful water sounds was the best part. The place was a little hard to find in the beginning but the hosts were very responsive and helpful. The area is rustic but you are secure behind multiple locks and fencing. Our family felt comfortable and safe.

Thanks Wilber Y Lesbia. We stayed in your house for three nights and enjoyed it. Wonderful beds, lukewarm shower...:-), the hammocks were comfortable and the private beach with the beach chairs incredibly luxurious. We could eat quietly at the outdoor dining table. Nothing bad to say about Hector y Isabel's place. Hector was such an amazing host who is so gracious and knowledgeable about the beautiful island of Ometepe. He gave us a great deal on renting his motorcycle and even brought in his sister in law to teach us how to cook local cuisine. If you ask nicely, he might even bring you up the hill and show you his beautiful farm on the side of the Maderas Volcano. Great location right on the beach and close to restaurants and 2km or so to Ojo De Agua. Do yourself a favor and stay in this great spot. Thanks Hector!

We had a fantastic few days here!!!!! It’s rustic and no frills but literally on the beach - walking out to that view every morning was unbelievable. The beds were clean and comfy. It’s windy at night and noisy with the ocean right there but personally for me the sound of the waves crashing was bliss. The restaurant was great and it was just perfect for what we wanted. Air con really isn’t needed because of the natural ventilation. Their dog was the best too :). Thank you for a memorable stay.

Hector and Isabel were great hosts. The apartment is right across the highway from the lake and the bus stops right in front if you wave it down. The kitchen is enough for minor cooking, and great affordable restaurants are close by. Hector was very patient with our limited Spanish and was a great teacher and help. We enjoyed this very relaxing location immensely and look forward to next time.

Very quiet place, beautiful water views and sunset are beautiful. The accommodation is very clean and the employees are very kind and smiling. Ana responds quickly to messages and gives great advice. A quick tip, used an ATV to get to the listing, the road is rugged and narrow. We had a lovely time at Ana's ☀️

Such a great stay! I was at Missy's place for 10 days and can't say enough. Super simple, super cute place. Beautiful back garden area with hammocks and a breeze and a covered area for some shade. Kitchen was well-equipped. In a great location close to yummy comidors and restaurants and El Pital (chocolate tour), Finca Magdelana is an easy walk as well as nearby bars, and places to do yoga and dance. Fruit stands and a place to rent bikes just down the street. I did not want to go! Thanks Missy :)
