Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Penrith

We spoke to Janice a few times whilst we were at the cottage. Janice was lovely, extra friendly and very accommodating. We’ve visited previously and will be back very soon.

Its a beautiful house. Host was so very friendly and helpful. House is spotless , clean and well decorated. Everything was just perfect and we felt like a home.

Lovely spacious period property which is in a great location. Close to train station and Lancaster center. Situated on a quiet street with parking and parking permit supplied by host. Contact with the host was faultless throughout our stay. I would definitely return if in the area again.

Great spot for our family’s two week winter stay in Ulverston. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants, off street parking, warm, and felt at home. Highly recommend for a short or long stay. Friendly and responsive hosts. Thanks John.

The cottage is very well-equipped, with everything you need to rustle up a three course meal - plenty pots, pans, roasting tins, utensils and a huge six seater dining table. It’s really easy to organise supermarket deliveries but only a 10-12 minute drive (Carlisle) if you’d rather pick things up yourself. The location is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of great dog walks close at hand. If you’re feeling less energetic you can relax in the cosy lounge or sit upstairs in the seating area of the master bedroom with amazing panoramic views of the countryside (thanks to the floor to ceiling windows). Sharu was an absolutely lovely host - extremely responsive and ever so helpful, yet completely unobtrusive; allowing me the space to enjoy my stay. I would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to book again when visiting the area

This presented the perfect getaway over the Xmas holidays for our tour of Cumbria and the lakes. Close enough to Cockamouth and Keswick and the sights like Buttermere and a amenities like supermarkets. We loved the log burning fire and the very comfy beds and modern bathroom. Hard to find a better 2 bed property in the lakes and Rob provided a. early check in, a life saver as we were buying Xmas dinner on the 24th December. If I were to visit this area again, I'd not hesitate to rebook with Rob. thankyou for letting us stay in your home.

A beautiful house in a stunning location, could not think of anywhere better to spend New Year. The location was amazing, next door is currently being refurbished but this wasn’t a problem as it was the holidays, there were no workers on site. I can only imagine once this work is completed the property will be even more amazing than it is already. The gardens are magical, but the advice to be careful and watch small children is useful as it is steep and not suitable for everyone. It rained none stop while we were there (can’t help the weather) so the large hallway was great for drying the dogs snd leaving our mountain of coats, hats and boots. There was a small issue with the hot water but Kate responded immediately and sorted it out straight away. To top it off there were four separate firework displays in Grasmere which we could see from the front window, lighting up the lake. A brilliant New Year. We have already checked if it’s available for next year but someone beat us to it!

A very enjoyable place to stay in. No problems with anything in the house. Couldn't get our grandchildren out of the hot tub.

Our first visit to the Lake District and I’m so glad we chose to stay at Robins, it was easy to find, parking spot out the front, SO central, just a couple of minutes walk down to the strip of Ambleside which had a variety of cafes, bars and shops, but was tucked away enough that it was such a peaceful stay. The location also had plenty of local walks and fells to choose from, we were spoiled. We only stayed for 4 days but had plenty to do and really felt like we experienced what the Lake District had to offer. The accommodation was clean and cosy, the bed was arguably better than our own and the open fire was perfect for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine. Thanks again!

Look no further. We’ve been regular visitors to Keswick for over 30 years and this accommodation is perfect for two people …. Great location, great facilities and spotless. Thank You.

A brilliant base to explore the Lake District. The apartment is a lovely spacious size, and in a perfect location, just seconds from bars and restaurants. Comfy bed and very warm shower. Only improvements would be to provide tea/coffee and some shower gel in the bathroom. Would return. Thank you.

This place is stunning! It is even better than the photos! Quirky,modern and beautifully decorated. The bed is super comfy and the double shower was a big hit! The location is in the very centre so all shops, bars and amenities are a stones throw away. I will 100% be returning in the summer. The host was friendly, responsive and informative. An absolute pleasure to deal with :)

Simon's place was clean and tidy with a cosy, homey feel! We had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Even in the cold weather, the place was warm enough on mornings and evenings. The location is fantastic, only 5 min walk to the main street and so close many attractions. We couldn't get a parking space on the street, but as Simon mentioned the surrounding streets are also available. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a cosy getaway in the lakes.

Me and my partner had an amazing stay here. The location was brilliant, so many lovely restaurants and pubs within minutes of walking, lots of good walks from Ambleside aswell so we didn't have to drive to starting points for walks unless exploring another area. The place was very clean, had all the basics you need. Host was very helpful and good communication throughout our stay. The apartment is in the basement part of the building, don't get much natural light in the living area or bedroom but this wasn't a problem for us as we were out most of the day - this then felt very cosy in the evenings when we stayed in. Good smart TV and very comfy sofa, ideal after a long day walking! fire place is a nightmare touch too:) Would definitely go back if visiting the lake district again!

This is the second time I have stayed at the studio. It is a lovely little place, compact but with everything you need in a very beautiful and convenient spot. Carol and Margaret are very helpful and friendly it is always a pleasure to stay in their beautiful flat. Thank you for being so welcoming and accomodating.

Beautiful spot for our trip to the lakes! Hot tub was lovely and very clean and quiet! Place was lovely! Grand suite was stunning and the bath and walk in shower made us never want to leave!! Won’t be our last stay

Incredible stay in an idyllic location and accommodation. Excelled our expectations..felt like we were in an film/dream house. Brilliant communication from hosts- accommodating to check in/check out. Very quick to respond when I couldn't work the tv-and filled up the log basket to the brim at the same time. Sauna and hot tub were brill. Kitchen very well equipped. The type of place you don't need to leave to have a great time. Highly recommend.

A wonderful half term long weekend with our teenagers. Super quiet location, but close enough to Lancaster to make a dash into the city easy. Smashing property with jus the right mixture of character and modernity. Will be back.

We really enjoyed staying at far Nook, ten minute walk to centre of Ambleside. Lovely accommodation, clean and spacious. Good quality, high standards. Upstairs double bed in front of house a bit too hard otherwise rest of beds comfortable. Good showers and bathrooms. Kitchen great social area, kitchen equipment good. Lovely garden area, although we didn’t use it because we explored the fells everyday. My parents loved sitting in the sun room at the front of the house while we were out walking. Great bedroom for them downstairs. My husband used the office space to work in a lot, which was great for him as this isn’t often found in accommodation. Wi-Fi good Really nice lounge area comfortable sofas and chairs and wood burner. Very homely. (Not over keen on furniture in TV room to big, uncomfortable and dowdy, didn’t use this room.) I’d certainly recommend this house. We had a wonderful holiday here and we would love to return and stay at Far Nook again. Thank you!

We had a great stay. The house was in a beautiful location, right on the estuary. Plenty of beach for walking. Beds were comfy and ample linen and towels were provided plus a great welcome hamper. The games room provided hours of entertainment and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing in after a busy day. The nearby rock park/quarry was a really interesting day out. We also enjoyed a meal out at the King William IV in Kirksanton. Jenny was a great host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

What a beautiful place to stay and relax! We had a lovely time the 6 of us with our newborn. Kitchen was great, fully equipped. Hot tub was such a treat! Electric car charging a real perk too to have onsite. We’d love to return one day and recommend this place a lot. Hosts were great and directed us to the property as there were some road closures when we arrived, they talked us through step by step and we were very grateful for this level of help. Highly recommended!

Jerry was so nice and helpful host. The place was amazing and ideal location for our daughter’s 30th Birthday. The place was spotless and everything about the stay was perfect. We would highly recommend using Jerry, I know we will.
