This place really took us by surprise. We drove 5.5 hours each way, just to visit and our biggest regret was not booking longer! Worth every bit of the money and drive. The place was private and peaceful. Very safe and secure and very quiet so you can really enjoy yourself. Really feels like you have the whole place and surrounding areas to yourself! Utensils and appliances wise you could see Jane has real care and attention to detail, everything you could need or think of was provided. And that too of high quality not just your budget items. The bbq was a proper bbq which was a joy to use. The hot tub come with lighting and jets. Even the pots and pans were tefal! A lot of time and money has gone into it all. Garden was well lit also for those late evenings. Was lovely to meet Ben also. So much more to say but we won’t ruin all the delightful surprises! Very happy with the stay and we will be back for sure. Thank you! And see you next time.

This is my second time at The Retreat in 2 weeks and we will definitely be back. Fantastic lodge, very clean and tidy. Lots of little nibbles as gifts from host which my daughter and niece loved. This stay went to the pool and sauna which was fantastic, free coffee, tea and biscuits when you come out which is a lovely little touch. Thank you for a fantastic stay xx

Lovely 2 night stay as a family of four which we used as a base to visit Flamingoland. The pod was clean and very well equipped. Located in peaceful surroundings with stunning countryside views! We enjoyed barbecuing on the fire pit and then relaxing in the hot tub. James and Julie were excellent hosts and were on hand to help with anything. All in all a lovely mini break and we will definitely be visiting again 🤗

Had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Will definitely be back as we loved it so much. The lodge was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was absolutely amazing! Stunning lodge, big private garden and beautiful, quiet surroundings. Easy check in and check out too. Host is helpful and responsive. 10/10 stay!

My family and I stayed Monday to Friday, fabulous site, the lodge was perfect for us and the staff really helpful. Lovely stay.

We had a lovely time! He kept us up to date with check in and allowed us to check in at 11:00am which was very kind! He thoroughly gave us a tour of the Lakeland Leisure Village and Lodge whilst also providing recommendations of places to eat and things to do. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be recommending to others and hopefully staying again at some point in the future.

Lovely stay at the lodge. Great location for the train into Harrogate and York. We were blessed with good weather so enjoyed alfresco drinks and a dip in the hot tub.

Beautiful location, great communication and instructions. The accommodation was lovely with a really comfy bed.

A long awaited break and worth every minute. Quiet, pet friendly, walks from the site available, so for a short break, plenty to do in the area without having to go far.

Denise was extremely helpful and approachable. She took the time to send a few messages to ensure we were clear on check in. Denise welcomed us and showed us to the lodge. The lodge was super clean, well equipped and Denise even supplied the basic condiments, tea, coffee, juice, milk with some welcome biscuits thrown in! The lodge was also dog friendly. The kids loved their bed room and we were all very comfortable. We had a great stay and the lodge more than met our needs. We plan to return.

Nice large static caravan outside of York, but very convenient. Quiet and comfortable perfect for families.

Booked this as a bit of last minute R & R for my family to end our Easter holidays. From the start Chas was friendly & very helpful providing fabulous food when we arrived. There was open space for our children to play & for us to unwind, the cabin is so cosy & everyone slept so well. The family were on hand to help when we needed, we will most definitely return here!

We've just returned from a short stay at my happy hounds. Our glamping pod Hugo was absolutely perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and was absolutely spotless considering these are dog friendly. The welcome pack was also a nice touch with all quality items. We have 2 dogs one that is very nervous, he settled in well as it was peaceful and private and having ample space for them to run and play at the pod and the secure dog fields, these are a great facility for anyone traveling with a dog. It's only a short drive to find local amenities and finding my happy hounds was easy with Google maps being accurate. The communication from Harry was excellent with plenty of information and help if needed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and have already started talking of booking again for the future. Accomadtion, 'Brook'. Such a beautiful and private location, with unspoilt views and nature at its best. We felt so comfortable and at home instantly. We loved watching the squirrels and birds, right outside the door. The sound of the brook water peacefully running through and around our lodge was very grounding. The private outdoor shower was exhilarating, and such a pleasant experience. The lodge had a large comfortable bed with additional blankets if needed. A well resourced kitchen and log burner for chilly nights. We couldn't fault a thing! Absolutely enjoyed every second and would certainly love to return. 'Thank you' to our lovely hosts.

Beautiful lodge overlooking Pendle Valley, lovely furnishings, bedding, towels. Everything you could think of was available. The view was stunning & loved the outside area, fully enclosed which was great for our 2 dogs & plenty of outdoor seating & table to use. The site was quiet & peaceful and plenty to explore. The perfect Easter break.

Great place, equipped with everything you could need. wood provided and firelighters and matches provided for log burner. sheep right outside the decking. set on the back of an equestrian type farm place, nice and quiet. we walked to the white swan, about 15mins, great food. Rail Trail nearby was a nice walk. hot tub was great, press and hold the right hand button to adjust the temp, took us a day to figure that out, and the first button on left adjusts the bubbles. there was individual jams and butters in the fridge, prosecco, crisps and biscuits, tea coffee sugar and 2pints of milk provided. it wasn't immediately obvious how to turn on the towel radiator in the bathroom, but there's a tiny switch on the bottom right. shower was OK did the job, but kinda what you expect from an electric shower. The postcode didn't take us right to the place but if you just keep going along the same road you will get to the gate to the farm. 100% recommend, would stay again.

Thank you Abigail and John. We had such a fantastic weekend! The lodge was much bigger than we expected and really comfortable. The hot tub is brilliant and we went for a swim at the pool onsite which the kids loved. we will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean on arrival with plenty of fresh towels for both the hot tub and the shower. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The hot tub was checked twice daily, so felt assured the hot tub was clean and safe to use. James was responsive and helpful when messaged. There was a lovely walk nearby too. The space felt peaceful and private.

Absolutely stunning and beautiful home. Enjoyed staying at the home and did a lot of activities including rowing the boat, playing board games which are supplied and fishing. Shops including restaurant and superstore within 10 minutes of driving. Highly recommended to others.

Katie was super helpful in our stay! She came out to help us late in the evening when we couldn’t stop the alarm going off! The pod was in a lovely location with great views, perfect place to start our hike from. Thanks for having us :D

The property offered so much to do—we loved having barbecues at the outdoor stove, feeding the swans by the lake, playing darts, and relaxing by the fireplaces while soaking in the breathtaking lakeside views. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and it was clear that Nicola takes great pride in creating a perfect guest experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind and enjoy ourselves. Nicola’s hospitality and the incredible amenities made this stay unforgettable. I’ve stayed in a few Airbnbs, and this was by far one of the best. The surroundings were peaceful, private and lots of open space. The accommodation had everything you could need. The kitchen was fully equipped for preparing meals, and the bathroom was clean and very spacious. There were thoughtful extras too, from board games to spare toothbrushes in case you forgot yours. We also tried the new log-fired hot tub, which comfortably fits two people. Relaxing under the stars was absolutely stunning. Overall, an excellent stay highly recommended!
