Holiday rentals with lake access in Rotorua District

One of the best stays of our lives! We stayed here for a few nights on our honeymoon, and it was truly one of the most incredible, luxurious experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views, the private lake access, and the sheer attention to detail in every part of the home. The space itself is stunning—every element, down to the plates and decor, was thoughtfully curated to create an elegant and comfortable atmosphere. One of our favorite highlights was the beautiful picnic area, which made for such a magical experience by the lake. If you’re considering staying here—do it! You will absolutely not regret it. This place is a dream, and we truly hope to return one day. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special!

Had a wonderful stay at this lakeside home. The beds were SUPER comfy and an AC unit in every bedroom was a huge bonus. Nancy was so kind and made sure we were having a smooth check in. Would absolutely stay again!

Great place and the hot tub was amazing! Just followed their clear instructions and it was a great experience. The smell of sulfur is definitely there but it’s almost everywhere in Rotorua so can’t really put that on them. The neighbors were rather loud having a very noisy fight with their kids but overall a great place to stay. A nice lil getaway retreat and so close to the Swan Lake! Thanks so much for a great stay!

Quiet with an excellent hot tub. we had a great night and would recommend this stay! it was also nice to have the laundry. there's a well stocked kitchen for anybody who would be interested in staying for multiple days

Stayed at Scott's place for a large family trip. There were enough space for all eleven of us. It was clean and comfortable. The house was surrounded by beautiful relaxing environment and the nights were peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for having us.

Absolutely perfect spot to stay for the Tarawera Ultra Trail event, could not be closer to the finish line area and in general super close to the park, playground, lake and eat street restaurants. A couple of things to note would be the noise from bars late on weekend nights. It’s not terrible but you can definitely hear it. Also the apartment had no salt, pepper, cooking oils etc those sort of helpful things for cooking your own meals, and no beach towels provided either. Just stuff to be aware of! Kristin was a very helpful and responsive host.

We loved our stay here. The location is fantastic - just a few minutes from the city centre but such a unique, peaceful place to spend a couple of days. We would have happily stayed for longer.

The first words out of my husband’s mouth when we walked into Stewart’s place was “ this place is beautiful !” We love staying in Airbnbs where the host has a keen sense of design and function. There’s lots of artwork and books to enjoy along with a beautiful patio overlooking the lake. It’s a much nicer place to stay than in hectic Rotorua - but you still have access to all the popular sites in the area. And it’s always a pleasure to actually meet the host. If we are ever back in this area, this is the only place we will stay. It is definitely a serene and peaceful couples retreat.

Great stay, amazing view, obviously; right on the lake, super well appointed, hardly anything missing, a small table for drinks between the chairs, and a 2nd mirror somewhere are about all we can possibly find fault, 1st world problems! haha. The room is comfortable, house is new, cushy carpets, kitchen with every possible need on vacay, washer with dryer...10 minutes drive to anywhere in Rotorua, loved it!

Excellent accommodation, very cosy, and a short drive into the centre of Rotorua, which is very convenient. Joan was a great host, friendly, and responsive to my communication.

Staying at Lucy's was like being in a dream. The perfect, idyllic, lakeside Kiwi-bach, this place matches all descriptions and photos. This place has everything - from a cozy fireplace, to kayaks to explore the lake and a modern bathroom, our family absolutely enjoyed staying here. There was a lot to do and keep yourself entertained with, we didn't struggle with having no wifi. The location is great, only 30 minutes to Rotorua and a lot of places to sightsee on the way there. The only downside of this place is that since it's close to the road there is some traffic noise, especially when big trucks go by. It wasn't an issue for us when staying there since we're city dwellers and accompanied to traffic noise, but if you're a light sleeper definitely bring ear plugs.

This is the second time we have stayed at the lake house in Lake Tarawera, We couldn't recommend it enough! Such an awesome spot if you have a boat or jetskis , If not they have kayaks you are welcome to use. Playground is about a 3-5 minute walk for the kids, Tennis Court is right at your door step. All the neighbors are very friendly and make you feel right at home. If your thinking about booking don't think about it just book it you will have an amazing time!

We really enjoyed our stay. Although the living area was small, it had everything we needed. Loved the fire pit and the outdoor shower. Great to have a short walk to Lake Tarawera for some paddle boarding and enjoyed a lovely stroll around the edge of the lake. The views from the top of the section were stunning. Had a great time in the Rotorua area mountain biking and also a special treat white water rafting. Thanks Ange.

Great place to stay, and a great host who makes everything so easy. A clean tidy place which makes you feel right at home. Loads to do in the area with only short drives to Rotorua, Kawerau or Whakatane. But the absolute highlight for us was being able to relax in spa looking out over the stunning Lake Rotoma watching the sun set. Highly recommend.

Super comfortable place to stay in great location. Great having a jetty to store the boat, and large garage to store and hang things to dry very handy. Pizza oven a hit. Photos don’t do the place justice. Juliet great to deal with.

The bach is great. Love the views and the sleepout was bigger than we thought. Great DVD selection.
