Holiday rentals with beach access in São Martinho

Communication with the hosts was perfect, from checking in, through getting some local recommendations to checking out. The owners are very thoughtful of their guests, there was a basket of local goodies waiting for us in the apartment when we arrived. The only thing I could complain about the apartment are the beds. They're just 140cm wide, quite hard, bouncy and very squeaky. Other than that, all was perfect, the kitchen is perfectly equiped. The place is very peaceful, it was just us and the ocean. Highly recommended!

Everything was great with the accommodation. Iri took great care of the well-being and has an open ear for improvements for future guests.

We had a wonderful week in Carlos' apartment. It is well situated for walks and sightseeing and the place is very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen is very well equiped and everything works perfectly. There is a few restaurants in the small village and a supermarket 10 minutes away by car. We rented a car fron Carlos' car-rental, which was without problems. Highly recommended for a visit to Madeira.

We were very kindly received by Julie and were able to use the apartment longer on the day of departure. The view of the harbor of Funchal is breathtaking and we liked the terrace very much. A special plus was the parking space on the premises.

Great place with a great view and a good location. Very true to the images of the listing. The only aspect I think could improve is bedding.

The flat is very clean, it has everything you need for your stay and it is close to the sea. We enjoyed every moment of our holiday, it was great to be able to hear the sea from the flat. I can absolutely recommend the flat and the location, and as a plus the coffee and the baked goods at the bakery below the flats are just great. If you like jogging, this is also the perfect place for that. You can run from the flat to the historical city centre and then run along the sea and watch the waves. Just an amazing experience. There are quite some hiking trails nearby, so after some beach time you can easily go for a wonderful hike. The hosts are very nice and friendly. Overall I can only recommend this place.

We stayed for 6 nights and absolutely loved the apartment. The central location made it easy to explore the city by foot. The 3 bedrooms are of equal size and there are 2 full bathrooms, perfect for a group of friends or family alike. The apartment was spotless and well-appointed. Luis graciously allowed us to check-in early which was much appreciated. If you are visiting Funchal this is the place to stay, I highly recommend it!

We really chose a fantastic apartment here! It's just like it looks in the photos and the description is accurate. If you want an apartment just outside the city centre, in a quieter neighbourhood (São Martinho), that has unbelievably stunning views of the hills, sparkling lights and the ocean, this is the one. The road is a dead end so there are no revving motorbikes or cars, only in the distance the typical barking dogs of Madeira. Going to sleep at night and waking up to this view was a stunner! We were there for one week and had everything we needed to make meals, watch TV and comfortably get ready (two of us). There are 3 balconies and 2 ways to get to the home. Be prepared to climb and descend hills if you don't have a car! But this is part of the experience. An added bonus was on-property cat, Hippie, who you get to feed and cuddle outside every day. She was such a sweetheart! Leonor is also one of the most proactive communicators on AirBnB. We had such a wonderful experience.

This is a really great place with a wonderful garden. You can skip the trip to a botanical garden- it’s all there! The house is very clean and aesthetic, the kitchen has all what it takes. There is an outside BBQ and an oven inside. We can really recommend the place. The location is very close for hiking in the area of Rabacal or Porto de Sol.

Absolutely brilliant place to stay. We were a family of six and the place was perfect; spacious, south facing and sunny, fantastic views across the Atlantic, quiet and with our own pool. Bruno was a fabulous host; helpful with suggestions of places to visit and restaurants, always responsive to texts and very friendly. Couldn't rate the place more highly!

Stayed for a week at Mariana and Miguel's house, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind after exploring the island. Excellent shower! HUGE bed. The little kitchen has everything you need to cook basic meals and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, everything was spotless and their cats are super cute! The shared gardens and pool are beautiful, we enjoyed sitting and watching the sunset - really lovely sea view! Would definitely recommend hiring transport to get around, we rented a scooter and there was a parking space available for us. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday, would love to come back in the future :)

Angela's place was a great size for 4 people, beautiful view of the ocean, sunsets. Angela met us personally for a tour of her place with instructions on everything. A good location to sights on the Southwestern side of Madeira. A reasonable drive to other parts of the island. A grocery store right around the corner came in real handy. The cake and a bottle of wine were a nice gesture.

We had the very best time at this home! The apartment was clean, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed. We especially liked the great view and the authentic surroundings. We immediately felt comfortable here! The host was super friendly, communication went smoothly, and accessibility was straightforward. The road to the property, typical of Madeira, is quite steep and narrow. Driving and especially the daily parking can be a challenge at first – but if you get the hang of it and you park without scrap, it's almost fun. 😉 Overall an absolute recommendation – we'd come back anytime!

Our stay in Madalena was fantastic - absolutely amazing views of the mountains and the ocean, immediately felt right at home. A great penthouse with an unparalleled view. Quiet, clean, and a private atmosphere. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the sea and it is great to watch the sunsets. The kitchen is very well equipped. The apartment offers plenty of space, an elevator directly from the garage to the apartment. The apartment is very well located to explore the island on a daily basis by car.

Hello dear readers, we were in Madeira for the first time, so we didn't have any experience with vacation rentals there. Juan's apartment is on a cul-de-sac and is accordingly quiet. Only the traffic on the nearby expressway can be heard when you sit on the balcony. You won't hear anything in the apartment. Right in front of the house is the reserved parking space, which is great. Especially positive are many things, such as 3 existing radiators for colder days, washing machine, freezer, vacuum cleaner, etc. Juan was always available, friendly and accommodating. We will definitely rent this apartment again next time we are traveling to Madeira. Funchal is about 6 km away and easily accessible via the highway.

We had a great stay at Jose's place! Jose was very responsive to messages, and flexible with check-in. We didn't have a car but there are lots of buses to/from Funchal (20 minute ride) to the bus stop right outside. We recommend his place!

Chayanne is an attentive and kind host who went out of his way to make our stay extra comfortable, and gave us useful recommendations for our trip. The flat is peaceful and spacious and has everything you need; great selection of crockery, knives and pans, and one could easily stay a month here comfortably. There is a decent sized pool and a cosy balcony to enjoy the views. I highly recommend this place and I hope to come back here next time!

Delila was an great host. Apartment was clean with all the amenities. Location is great, close to the beaches, stores and restaurants. Bus stop is right in front of the apartment.
