Lake house holiday rentals in Shawnigan Lake

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

Sunny was very friendly and accommodating! The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful, just what I needed for a couple days away.

Beautiful home, clean interior, comfortable beds, lots of little spots around the house to sit and take in the gorgeous view. We had an awesome time on the lake with the canoe and would definitely go back. Sherry nd Ross are welcoming and really good communicators. Thank you again for having us!!

We stayed in Wendys guest suite for 7 days over Christmas while we visited family in Lake Cowichan. Wendy had thoughtfully decorated the suite with extra christmas touches that made us immediately feel like this would be our home away from home. The suite is well equipped with a lovely view of the Lake. Wendy communicated promptly at all times. We would definately stay here again!

This artfully designed mid century modern treasure is perfectly situated for a swim in the river then a hot tub warm up. With the fully set-up kitchen, making a gourmet meal is easy. Having the commercial espresso machine means lattes on the covered patio watching the river or the elk in the yard. Angela’s place is comfortable, clean and perfect for a retreat vacation. Absolutely recommended!

We had a weekend on the lake at Scott’s! The place was cozy during the snowy weekend. Beautiful lakefront spot with incredible outdoor area that you can enjoy year round. The hot tub was great to relax in and look over the lake. Would absolutely come back here again!

this place is so thoughtfully and beautifully designed & furnished. the views are incredible, even during a grey winter day. both beds are heavenly. though it's not targeted as an accessible home, we found it very comfortable for my mom who uses a walker. just one step at the entry threshold then easy to get around every space. primary & guest bathrooms both have walk in showers with small entry thresholds. be aware though that there are no handholds in either. i brought my dog and took full advantage of the bald mountain hike, which starts across the street and down the block! there were one or two little things we needed and Kory was very helpful & responsive. would love to come back again!

Brooke’s suite was very cozy and clean. It looks even better than in photos provided. The lake view was breathtaking and patio was so comfortable for breakfast and dinner as well. Suite has all needed stuff for comfortable stay. The location is also convenient and very peaceful. Soundproofing was excellent. And on top of that Brooke was very helpful and responsive. We’ll come back again!

Great location on the lake. Can walk into Lake Cowichan in 10 minutes and public boat launch is 5 minute walk away. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed. We were 2 families (8 total) each with 2 older teenage boys and felt like there was ample space and sleeping. Lake is across the street, and there is a beach and good sized dock - one in our party had a broken ankle and wasn't able to walk the path to the water but we were able to ferry him over on the boat from the public dock. Dawn is quick to respond and available for any issues. We will be back!

Charlotte was an incredible host! She was responsive, accommodating and so great to communicate with from the start. She was also so kind to have welcomed us with fresh flowers, delicious homemade cookies and a written note. These small details truly did not go unnoticed by myself and my friends during our stay. Charlotte’s home was also very clean, spacious, and comfortable as pictured in the listing, yet we were still in awe of how beautiful her home truly was in person, especially the breathtaking views. We’d love to stay here again in the future! Thanks for having us, Charlotte!

I wish we could have stayed longer at Suzanne's place, it was a home away from home! The bed was comfy, there were books and games, the kitchen was stocked with tasty treats, and there was so much art, love, and attention to detail around the house. And I absolutely loved the shoe dryer, what a great thing to have :D I hope we can come back to explore more of the lake and if we do, I would love to stay here again.

We stayed here for a long weekend to experience some of the holiday magic of Victoria with the kids. It's an easy 20 min drive into town. The trailhead for a walk around elk/ beaver lake is also 20 meters from the door, which our dog loved! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Would recommend!

Jason is the best host I have ever had with a rental property. His place is beautiful, fairly priced and he was very communicative throughout the process. I would highly recommend Jason and his property for families.

Gorgeous view! By far the best home we've stayed in, in Lake Cowichan! This home is stunning! The relaxing sauna and locally-sourced welcome basket with baked goods, etc was such a nice touch. We highly recommend staying here! It had so many extra amenities: yoga mats, board-games, plush robes, beach supplies, barbecue on the patio, etc. The bed was ultra comfy with pristine bedding. The unobstructed lake views were outstanding, we wish we could wake up here every morning! We hope to stay for at least a week when we come back to rent paddleboards & tubes to float the river this Summer. The location is perfect, very close to the shops and restaurants. The kitchen was stocked beautifully, so we cooked every meal during our stay. Everything needed was at our fingertips! Shawn and Alexandra were lovely and welcoming hosts, and let us have our privacy during our stay.

Well equipped place with detailed instructions from Danielle! We loved our stay away from the hustle and bustle of central Victoria. Beautiful natural surroundings.

Lovely quiet neighborhood. Air BnB suite is exactly as shown in pictures, very bright and extremely neat and clean. I stayed for 4 nights due to some medical concerns and was very comfortable there. Francis was very responsive and friendly at all times ! Highly recommended!!! Already in my favorites !!!!

We booked Carole's house for a four-night family trip. Our circumstances changed on short notice and Carole was very helpful adding a few extra days for us on short notice. The place was nicer than the listing. The waterfront was like a postcard. Carole's kindness and support were oustanding. Great house, great host, great choice. We'll be back.

Ya que aparte de ser muy amplia , es muy bonita; Krista siempre se mostró muy atenta y hospitalaria con nosotros, también fue muy accesible con los horarios y la comunicación bastante efectiva (tanto al responder los mensajes como de manera presencial); siempre tuvo mucha iniciativa para apoyarnos en cualquier inconveniente que tuviéramos incluso fuera de lo que ofrecía el alojamiento... Los paisajes y las vistas eran maravillosas desde cualquier ventana de la casa. Recomiendo ampliamente la estancia en ese lugar, ya que te encontrarás con excelentes anfitriones y una granja/casa hermosa ❤️
