Lake house holiday rentals in Shawnigan Lake

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

This was genuinely the nicest place I’ve ever stayed! Due to the torrential rain during our stay, we ended up spending more time indoors than expected, so we were so grateful for the cozy atmosphere, thoughtful touches, and all the amenities that made our stay enjoyable. The space felt like a true retreat, with plenty of room to relax, great natural light, and lovely decor. The hosts clearly put a lot of care into making sure guests have everything they need. Despite the bad weather, we had an amazing time. Highly recommend!

We loved staying here. The house is great. The front porch, the side deck with grill and sun chairs and outdoor dining is great. The dock on the water is fabulous. Any specific questions or issues were addressed immediately. Its a really lovely spot. You can't do better on Shawnigan Lake!

Beautiful home, clean interior, comfortable beds, lots of little spots around the house to sit and take in the gorgeous view. We had an awesome time on the lake with the canoe and would definitely go back. Sherry nd Ross are welcoming and really good communicators. Thank you again for having us!!

This artfully designed mid century modern treasure is perfectly situated for a swim in the river then a hot tub warm up. With the fully set-up kitchen, making a gourmet meal is easy. Having the commercial espresso machine means lattes on the covered patio watching the river or the elk in the yard. Angela’s place is comfortable, clean and perfect for a retreat vacation. Absolutely recommended!

We had a weekend on the lake at Scott’s! The place was cozy during the snowy weekend. Beautiful lakefront spot with incredible outdoor area that you can enjoy year round. The hot tub was great to relax in and look over the lake. Would absolutely come back here again!

We had such a great stay at Marlisa’s lake house! Very spacious with beautiful panorama windows looking out onto the lake. I would recommend her place to anyone looking for a getaway!

Great location on the lake. Can walk into Lake Cowichan in 10 minutes and public boat launch is 5 minute walk away. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed. We were 2 families (8 total) each with 2 older teenage boys and felt like there was ample space and sleeping. Lake is across the street, and there is a beach and good sized dock - one in our party had a broken ankle and wasn't able to walk the path to the water but we were able to ferry him over on the boat from the public dock. Dawn is quick to respond and available for any issues. We will be back!

This Airbnb is incredibly cozy and has everything you need for a perfect stay. Suzanne was very responsive and made sure everything was taken care of. The space feels like home, and it's located in a peaceful area. I would definitely stay here again! The only minor thing is that you can hear footsteps above, but it didn't bother me at all. I would give this place a solid 10/10!

Our stay at Gavin’s place was perfect. We had plenty of room for our group. The house was comfortable, well appointed, comfortable beds and had everything we needed and more. Gavin was super responsive to all my questions, he is a great host. Thank you Gavin! Highly recommend this home when staying in Shawnigan Lake. Lots to do, and we had fun adventuring around. Would love to come back in the summer.

A little gem, perfect location, beautiful home. Spent 1 month and loved it. House is central, walkable access to groceries, cafe, restaurants and public swimming beach on the river. Public beach on the lake is only 10 min drive up the road. The fruit trees were a delicious bonus, apples, grapes, and pears (seasonal, we stayed in Sept). Only thing to note is the road is busy and just off a blind corner. However, the deck is contained which guests with small kids or pets can feel confidant that the busy street is not an issue. The yard is not fenced so bring a stake tether or some way to tie your pet off the deck. The boat launch is a 2 min walk which made kayaking and fishing an easily accessible activity. Lake Cowichan is an amazing little town with all the amenities, pristine lake/river, and only a 20 min drive to Duncan with Starbucks, and more shopping options. Perfect vacation spot! Michele - excellent host - greeted us at check in and responded immediately by text. Excellent!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lakefront home. The view of the lake is beautiful and we felt like we could sit back and relax with our friends. Good memories were made here and I would definitely stay again!

This suite feels brand new. It is sparkling clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The kitchen has all the essentials, the shower is spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The nearby Galloping Goose trail is a quick and pleasant walking route to grocery shopping and a variety of services including restaurants. Michael and Shauna can be very proud of the accommodation they provide. I am happy to recommend it enthusiastically.

We booked Carole's house for a four-night family trip. Our circumstances changed on short notice and Carole was very helpful adding a few extra days for us on short notice. The place was nicer than the listing. The waterfront was like a postcard. Carole's kindness and support were oustanding. Great house, great host, great choice. We'll be back.

My parents had an absolutely lovely stay at Wendy's. The home was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and located in such a peaceful setting with a stunning view. The decor and furnishings felt luxurious, and there were thoughtful extras, like a bag of local cookies, that were much appreciated after a long day of travel. Wendy, herself, was a super friendly host, and provided excellent communication before and during the stay. Highly recommend this property if you are visiting the Lake Cowichan area!

We stayed here for a long weekend to experience some of the holiday magic of Victoria with the kids. It's an easy 20 min drive into town. The trailhead for a walk around elk/ beaver lake is also 20 meters from the door, which our dog loved! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Would recommend!
