Family-friendly holiday rentals in St Ives

This was our second stay and, like the first, it didn't disappoint. The views, the Lodge itself and the hot tub all make for a perfect, peaceful weekend retreat. Caroline is a fantastic, friendly and responsive host who communicates quickly.

The house was amazing,ample space for 2 families getting together-never seen such a massive tv in our lives so watching a film was like being in a cinema! Kitchen fully equipped and lots of kitchen towels provided which we had forgotten to bring! Bathrooms and toilets were spotless and lots of loo roll provided too (a bug bear of mine when you only have 1 for your entire stay so have to make a mad dash to a shop as your first outing)! Location wise it was perfect,sea views,plenty of parking,short walk to the train station 3 mins away from st Ives,games provided (tho we are in to monopoly at the Mo and brought our own for some epic games nights)! Tesco a short drive away too which was handy if needed! All in all a fantastic stay-both hosts were super responsive too and should we have had any issues im sure would have been able to help quickly!

We had a wonderful stay at Shaun’s cottage in Saint Newlyn East. The space was exactly as described — clean, cosy, and thoughtfully set up, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay as a small family. It was perfect for me, my wife, and our 5-month-old son. The location is peaceful and ideally situated for exploring the coast and nearby towns, yet still close enough to amenities when needed. Shaun was a responsive and helpful host, offering clear instructions and making us feel welcome from the start. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, charming base in Cornwall!

Accommodation was beautiful and perfectly clean, even more lovely than the photos would suggest! The cottage was situated in a peaceful location but within driving distance to main attractions. The amenities in the cottage were perfect for a cozy night in and hosts were quick to respond regarding any enquiries. The bed was extremely comfortable and with the sauna and hot tub we couldn’t decide if we should stay in and enjoy the accommodation or go out to explore Cornwall!

We stayed at jennys just after getting married and it was a lovely time the whole area is beautiful and being allowed to roam her beautiful gardens was an added bonus

This was our second visit to Tygwella and it was as enjoyable as our first. The house has an elevated position next to the coastal path which makes it ideal for walks in either direction and the views are stunning. The house is well equipped and had everything that we needed and is nicely furnished, and also spotlessly clean. David, the host was really helpful with arrangements before our visit and always responded very quickly. Many thanks.

We really enjoyed our stay and our accommodation was perfect. I have a long list of what was great! 1. Parking outside the house - great for unloading 2. Doggy friendly 3. Secure garden for dogs 4. Great outdoor space with covered area for food prep and a bbq. Outdoor fire, table and chairs. Really pretty garden, which we found lovely to relax with a drink after some lovely long walks! 5. The coastal path is literally 2 mins away from the house! The coastal paths are stunning! 6. Short walk into St Agnes, which has some really lovely restaurants. We went to 3 different ones during our stay and the food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. Great for vegan food also, loads of choice! I must say the vegan Cornish pasties, bread and carrot cake were delicious! 7. The house was clean, and the bed was comfy. Great books on bookshelf. 8. Lovely indoor wood burner Kate left us some Prosecco, fresh bread and butter in the fridge! Highly recommend!

A lovely few days stay. Fiona couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive. Great accommodation. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, brilliant shower room and we got much use from the hot tub. Location wise, it’s literally outside the Lands End visitor centre so ideally placed for breathtaking walks. Highly recommended.

Salamander was just Superb. An amazing place to stay, with fabulous views over the sea and harbour. Spacious, clean and warm with a well equipped kitchen . We ate at three different restaurants in Charlestown, all excellent.

We had a wonderful stay at Jane’s Cottage. Ideally located for walks along the coast and to Gwynver and Sennen Cove. Michelle and Duncan were welcoming and friendly. They were on hand at all times if we had any questions. The cottage itself is lovely and very cosy, just what we imagined. It had everything we needed. We will definitely be booking to stay again soon!

Thoroughly enjoyable stay in this ideal situated property that is both charming and centrally located. Loved overlooking the water!

My daughters and I, had a wonderful stay. Sharon and her family are really helpful and lovely, The cottage is beautiful, had everything we needed and the location was perfect.

We stayed here for a few days in April 2025 and had a great experience. The location is perfect—quiet, yet close to everything. It's just a short walk to the beaches, town centre, and harbour, with a shop and pub conveniently around the corner. The railway station is about 10 minutes away on foot, and Carbis Bay is a stunning 40 minute walk. The accommodation itself was spacious, with comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms, and a lovely lounge area to relax in. Michael, the host, was very helpful and always quick to respond—communication was excellent throughout. Highly recommended!

Mike you’re awesome, property is great with a wonderful view. Mike keeps it super clean and has provided what you could need to have a great stay. The beach view and waking up to the sound of the waves is priceless. Total gem

This place just feels like love. Really cosy, peaceful and sunny inside and out. The hosts are lovely, friendly and kind and the house has everything you need. We have really enjoyed our stay and felt very much like it’s a retreat. Bed super comfortable, perfect garden size for our dog to lay on the grass and get his grounding in. Really nice interiors too, quality items and generally great vibes. Easy and Beautiful walks right out the door and we have heard woodpeckers and owls here and the amount of stars you can see are is incredible. The skylights in the bedroom allow you to see the trees all around which makes you feel very connected to nature and relaxed.

The lodge was in a beautiful setting, perfect for families, a lovely safe environment. The accommodation itself was extremely spacious and spotlessly clean, the bathrooms were lovely, with towels and toiletries included. Upstairs was particularly spacious with amazing views. The hosts kindly provided us with initial provisions, like tea and coffee. It’s a great base to explore the surrounding area, and a lovely space to return to. I would definitely recommend this beautiful holiday home, and would return with my family.

Stunning apartment, spacious and modern . Very clean. Welcome pack provided and toiletries. Beautiful views across the bay. 5 min walk down to the sea. 10 mins back ( uphill ! ) Lovely balcony to have a glass of wine. Peaceful location. Would thoroughly recommend.

Stephen was so accommodating and helpful , a brilliant host. The accommodation is fab, my 11 year old daughter and I stayed and it was cosy and comfortable. It is located on a gorgeous camp site which is home to lots of peacocks 🦚 which was lovely. We used the accommodation as a base to see my son and friends near Padstow throughout each day, so we didn’t sit around much or even turn the TV on! But we enjoyed it and will definitely return . grateful for a lovely stay. Huge thanks.

Great apartment, very clean and spacious. Everything you need is there and it’s really close to the town centre and all of the beaches. This is the second time we have stayed and we will hopefully return in 2023.

This was our first time booking an AirBnB and I needn't have worried. Marcus is a great host, very helpful and the property was exactly like the photos and description. It was in a perfect location for us, in a quiet part of town, but just a 10 minute walk to the town centre where there were some great pubs and Newquays beaches and harbour are also not far away. We found it very quiet in the apartment and weren't disturbed by any noise at all. We thought the Christmas tree and other decorations were a lovely touch and we felt at home and very comfortable.

We had a really lovely Easter family holiday here. The flat was perfectly comfortable for our stay and use of the pool and sauna a highlight. We really like the location, beautiful walk to the beach and access to Fowey. Would return.
