Family-friendly holiday rentals in Torquay

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the pictures do not do this place justice, as it is much bigger than the pictures show. The annex was very clean and spotless. Ian & Katka (Hosts) were very proactive, friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile. The swimspa and hot tub are an absolute amazing feature of the property along with the balcony and views. We would highly recommend and would love to visit again.

Such a peaceful location and the highlight is the hot tub which is very private - great to relax in while watching the sunset or stargazing. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with great facilities. We enjoyed a short local walk, a trip to Sandymouth beach (lovely cafe with great views) and visited Dartmoor. Would definitely stay again!

Brilliant house with stunning views and great amenities. Host was always quick to respond and very helpful with plenty of recommendations for local pubs and restaurants. Would highly recommend for any large groups or families looking for a long weekend away to switch off.

Simply can not recommend this place enough! The area is fantastic and having the opportunity to relax in a hot tub under the stars is something everyone should experience at some point. The property is in a lovey village with everything in reach. The local food and bar scene are equally amazing with Plymouth not too far away. A lot of culture to fit in, I wish we’d stayed longer. Holls went above and beyond to make us welcome and comfortable. And we will definitely be returning! 10/10.

We had such a lovely stay at the lodges, after not very many holidays having 3 young children this was the perfect fit. So much close by - farm park, beaches but also some amazing restaurants too. In the evening when kids are tucked up you can sit under the well styled and beautifully lit and thought out balcony watching the 'nightlife'. It was most certainly the break we needed and one we will remember for a very long time.

What a wonderful place to stay. Friendly host, beautiful surroundings, cosy inside. The log burner was a lovely thing to have when the weather turned wet and windy!Or dogs also loved having access to the field adjacent to the cottageOne thing to bear in mind, if you are over 6 foot you won’t be able stand fully upright in parts of the kitchen, although this didn’t bother my husband too much.

we just returned from a weekend at wagtails. We had a wonderful stay. Johanne was extremely accommodating. allowed us to arrive slightly earlier and a relaxed check out was given too! we stayed with our disabled dog and as the grass was a little to long for him to move around in Johanne even accommodated striming the grass for him! I couldn't fault the property. Everything was explained and we were greeted on arrival. the bathroom was a gorgeous supirse with a freestanding bath. we felt at home and able to relax at ease. The surroundings are gorgeous, our two year old loved exploring. We will definitely book again in the future. lovely hosts!

Our accommodation in the barn - which was excellent - is situated in a working farm next to a very pretty and accessible area of woodland, where paths and bridleways converge and deer can be seen (by us twice) darting between trees and out over moorland. A walk on one of the bridleways up the valley wends to an old pub through beautiful scenery. The barn is cosy, stocked with everything you need; Steve and his family are on hand with advice and are immensely friendly when approached. The farm is situated close to Postbridge (which has a little local shop), so in central Dartmoor - a perfect spot for trips around the moor in whatever direction. But the atmosphere is one of peaceful isolation; the barn is restful, and walks can be taken in many directions from the farm at a guest's a leisure. We loved it, would thoroughly recommend it, wished we could have stayed longer, and hope to be back. Thank you Steve and family!

Really lovely stay, it felt private and not at all over looked but close to the main house. Lovely little village and we had great days out! House feels like home, comfortable, everything you need and spotlessly clean.

Amazing getaway - you wouldn't know there are other people staying nearby as it is so quiet. Peaceful, relaxing and a great place to use as a base to explore Dartmoor and Hay Tor. Me and the dog loved it!

Victoria’s place was a joy to rest and relax in. Plenty of space for our family of four. The two beaches nearby are lovely. As a host Victoria was quick to provide recommendations and responsive at all times.

This was our second stay at The Chapel, and it fully lived up to the expectations from our first visit. Beautiful little place but with everything you could possibly need for a weekend break. We fully made the most of the gorgeous roll top bath during our stay, and loved the freshly baked loaf of bread which was awaiting us on our arrival. The Chapel is the perfect location for walks across Dartmoor too! We will no doubt be back again for another stay in the future.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Admiral’s Quarters. The accommodation is in a brilliant location really close to the centre of Dartmouth but very peaceful with the most beautiful views. The place is immaculate and has everything you need for a really comfortable stay . Peter was super helpful and friendly and helped us with our bags when we arrived , he was also on hand if we had any questions or queries . We all had the most relaxing stay in the most beautiful location , we will definitely come back in the near future . Really appreciated the welcome gifts of delicious shortbread & fudge. We really enjoyed our stay at Thurlstone. The apartment was ideally located on the beach making it easy for easy beach fun for the kids. They went rockpooling, swimming and made sandcastles every day. We enjoyed the views of the sunset while having dinner and drinks on the balcony. The flat was bright and spacious. We felt safe and had a comfortable stay with everything that a family of five would need. Our host was responsive, accommodating and friendly. We would stay again in a heartbeat :)

A delightful stay in wonderful surroundings, views are sublime, home from home facilities, dog friendly property with lots of walks, well equipped kitchen although we didn't really cook as there are so many restaurants and bars to try! Julie ensured we had everything we needed and communicated well. look forward to a return visit when we have a bit more time to enjoy ourselves.

We had such a wonderful stay. The house was larger and more beautiful than I expected - much better than the lovely pictures. Really thoughtful amenities and touches. The staff at the hotel could not have been more welcoming or accommodating and similarly with all communication via Airbnb. The food at the Cary Arms Hotel was excellent and a stones throw from the house. Beautiful beach, breathtaking views, lovely home and a short walk from local restaurants and shops. We wished we had booked for longer. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

Had a fantastic stay at Pristhole which is very well located in the pretty village of Stokenham, close to two pubs and roughly halfway between Salcombe and Dartmouth. Iona is really friendly and welcomed us on arrival and showed us around the grounds which are extremely well kept and the apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. As a family of four with two daughters (aged 8 & 7), it was all perfect and on our first night we enjoyed a really nice walk via Tor Cross to the Tower Inn in Slapton for dinner and subsequent trips to Salcombe, Paper Bird Island/Kingsbridge, Woodlands Theme Park, Dartmouth and the nearby Stokeley Cafe and Farm Shop; all of which were great. We might just have to break our long-standing rule of not going back to visit the same place by returning to stay in future in the hope of better weather.

Had a great stay. Very peaceful location near to the beach and facilities. Lovely walks nearby. Everything you need in the caravan. Nicely presented accommodation.

We were a group of ladies and we loved Sarah's place. The house is beautiful, very homely with everything we needed. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms, great showers, lovely and warm. Lots of little extra touches. The pool was fab and we had fun in the games room. We would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

We had such a lovely time at Sunset View. After a little blip getting started (which was very quickly resolved), we quickly settled in and felt right at home in Emily's comfortable and well thought out caravan. Devon Cliffs is a huge site but the van is in a great position in a quiet cul de sac so you're not 'on top' of other people. Only a 5 minute walk to the leisure area and shop and we had a lovely sea view when the sun came out! We really loved it and will definitely be back.

My family and I had a wonderful time. We even extended our stay by 2 nights as we didnt want to leave. The apartment was really lovely, had everything we needed with a well equipped kitchen. My boys loved the tennis court and swimming pool. The views from the apartment were stunning overlooking the sea. we started each day with a morning (very cold) swim in the sea followed by a lovely coffee/hot chocolate from the cafe on the beach. I would highly recommend Des's apartment. We will definitely be returning
