Kid-friendly holiday rentals in West Virginia

A phenomenal stay! The place was SO clean and way more beautiful than pictured. Beds were comfortable, soaps/shampoos and towels were SUPER PLENTIFUL. Mike and Trish's hospitality was the best we've ever experienced at ANY AirBnB. Mike even spent a long time helping us install our bike rack in the dark because we were really struggling! They delivered a crock pot and tweezers (a child got a splinter) within minutes of us asking. Talk about customer service! We LOVED feeding their horses and our kids had the BEST time playing with their puppy. This was definitely the low key retreat we needed to get away from the hectic hustle and bustle of DC. Their location was wonderful for a 20 mile RT bike ride and hikes in numerous parks. We will definitely return again, it was a perfect weekend!

My brother and I rented the wizard house and game house which worked out great for our families as they are side by side. The shared back yard was great. Loved the theming of both houses. Game room was a little nostalgic of some childhood games! We loved the escape room in the wizard house. Rachel was great at communicating things to do in the area, places to eat, and local grocery stores. We really appreciated her suggestions especially for food stops! I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Her places had everything we needed!

My husband and I along with our two dogs had a delightful stay at Sasquatch Retreat. Aside from the unique and charming decor, it was beautifully located for our trip to New River Gorge National Park. Having a fenced in yard and dog friendly facilities made this a perfect choice for us. The welcome guide was super helpful with suggestions for local eateries and activities. Our hosts were wonderfully responsive to our questions. Thanks again, Andrew and Kasey for a great stay!

Steven & Becky are GREAT hosts! Super friendly, quick communication and clear instructions on the place. They even left us snacks! (Kid approved snacks too!) The house was squeaky clean and cool when we arrived. The Boomer Bungalow is a cute house and feels just like home. I definitely would recommend staying here and I certainly would come back.

The setting of the home was breathtaking!!! The mountain was beautiful and the open patio was perfect to see the moon and stars at night! We were thinking there was too little light on the patio when we arrived but we know now it’s intentional. The home was spacious and had everything we could have needed. Hot tub was amazing and we can’t wait to return to Lost City!!

My friends and I met at Anita’s place, it was perfectly located halfway between my home in South Carolina and my friend’s homes in Pennsylvania. Anita’s back to the fifties home was exactly what we were looking for. My friends and I try to get together every spring and every fall, and we will most likely return to Anita’s place in the future. We are all cat lovers, so Elvis and his friends the were an added bonus for us!! We also enjoyed watching deer, in the back yard in the evenings!! Loved reading about the history of the family and the home that was displayed throughout the home!! We had a fabulous time!

We had a wonderful stay at Colleen’s place. With six of us, the house offered plenty of space to accommodate everyone comfortably. The kitchen was very well organized, and Colleen was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The porch and grounds provided lots of outdoor space to relax, and with easy access to Kaymoor, we would have been able to spend the entire weekend climbing without needing to use our car. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends!

We were a large group of 7 adults and 1 child, and this was the perfect Airbnb for us! Another part of our group was staying with their RV at the KOA so the location was fantastic since we could very easily walk between the Airbnb and RV. It was also great to enjoy the KOA activities and spaces. You could even walk to the national park if you enjoy walking! The house is very spacious, and it was a great space for hanging out whether in the the dining room, living room, or outside. The Airbnb was very well equipped and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you have a large group or part of you group is staying at KOA.

What a beautiful apartment right in the center of Shepherdstown. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen is fully-equipped and we had all of the space that we needed for a family of four. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We didn't come to WVA to stay in an Airbnb, but the place was charming, immaculate, and close to every where we wanted to go. Lisa was great! Awesome restaurant right around the corner. Highly recommend!!

Jason was quick to answer and very kind. The Airbnb was cozy and had everything we needed. You couldn’t get any closer to the casino if you wanted to. Also a quick drive to Ohio Valley mall and Triadelphia. I have no complaints at all, but if I could change one thing, it would be the couch. It wasn’t the most comfortable but seriously, not a dealbreaker because everything else was great and we were on the move most of the weekend anyway!

Alex and Rebecca went above and beyond expectations and were flexible when we needed to extend the stay another day. They were fantastic at communicating to ensure that we were able to get into the building and sent multiple recommendations on things to do and places to eat while we were there. Beyond amazing hosts 10/10 would recommend staying here. Thank you Alex and Rebecca for being so great!

In all the years I’ve used Airbnb in and outside the US, Terry’s place is by far the best I’ve stayed in. It’s not brand new but it smells like brand-spankin’ new! That’s what I always look for in a place and everything was clean and smelling good like the blankets and sheets. The appliances all work great the floors and carpets are clean. Heating and cooling was great. There is ample parking and check in and out was a breeze. Most of all Terry made me feel very welcome. I felt that we’ve known each other for a long time the way he treated me. Very responsive (will respond in less than 60 seconds no bs!) and very proactive and thinks of what we might need ahead of time He is very easy to talk to and will work with you 100%. Water pressure was strong and we slept really well with no noise throughout the night. You will love your stay at Terry’s! Just a few flights of stairs from the back parking spaces as soon as u open the door that clean fresh scent will greet you and make you smile

Thank you for hosting me during my month in West Virginia! Your house was lovely and I felt so at home. Carolyn and her daughter were available in case I needed anything. The housekeeper, Shelli, is also wonderful.

Everything was perfect! The instructions were clear and Jason was very responsive. The location is perfect and in walking distance from many local restaurants and parks!

Kristy's place was as described. There were loads of good restaurants close by. We attended a show at the Hylton Performance center on the Manassas George Mason University campus. We were about 20 minutes away. The bed was super comfortable. I'm planning on staying here again.

My son and I really enjoyed the stay in Sarah’s place. Easily walkable to the lift, just up the road from the village, and beautiful views from the from porch. Comfortable and quiet.

Very comfy condo… perfect for our mini family vacay. Very flexible with check out which gave us more time on the slopes.

This unit has everything that you need for a pleasant stay while skiing at Timberline Mountain. Instructions on how to find the unit, access the unit, and access the ski locker are very clear. The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of towels and blankets for everyone. The giant bathtub was a welcome site after a long day of skiing. Really a nice touch. The kitchen is well stocked, and the location simply cannot be beat. Paying for convenience is worth it to me when I’m carrying around a bunch of heavy, awkward equipment. The parking, and the locker are worth the price alone. Overall, a good deal! Will be back.

We had a great stay at Chris and Allison's condo for the closing weekend at Snowshoe. It's great being able to walk out of Mountain Lodge and be right at the slopes. The condo was comfortable and quiet, with a great bed and well stocked kitchen

What an excellent stay at Charles’ place! Great location close to cross country and downhill skiing. Charles was always so responsive to our questions and went out of his way to make sure things were great. Thanks for a great stay!

Gwen’s condo was fantastic - the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The condo was clean, homey, and stocked with the essentials. Gwen and Alan were extremely helpful and communicative - they made everything a breeze. It was great to be right next to night skiing with fresh snow. Will have to come back!
