Monthly Rentals in Ae Village

A stunning cottage spread across two floors, pet friendly with beautiful views and both morning and evening visits to the gate from sheep, lambs (Spring time only sadly!) Cows and Calves (Again we got lucky with our timings here!) The venue is clean and instructions were clear for our stay. Plenty of farm shops locally to source ingredients for the well equipped kitchen or local pubs for anyone wanting to relax and not have to cook. Dumfries is very close although we didn’t visit. The hosts were informative of local attractions and their communication prior to our stay was perfect. Our Dog Toddy loved the walks available and enjoying his walks up and down the lanes before bed and first thing in the morning. Location wise most things are a drive away… you’re in Scotland! It’s to be expected. We did make our way to Ruby Bay which was 3hrs but worth it to hunt for Garnets in the shale. If you’re looking to book here why not also look at trying gold panning at the Lead Museum!?

What can I say, the best Airbnb we have stayed at to date! This place is perfect, you are in the middle of fields, with lambs everywhere, your own private loch that has kayaks available to use (great fun!), a secure garden to let the dogs roam freely. The house itself is bigger than the images seem, we had plenty of space for four adults, a toddler and three dogs. They provided a cot and high chair which is a great help. There’s a huge boot room which is great to throw off your coat and walking boots, and give the dogs a towel dry after a walk. Beds were perfectly comfortable, a cosy log fire, plenty of hot water in the showers, what more could you ask for! The house felt more like a home than a rental and we are already planning our next trip. The hosts were friendly and available for any questions you may have. My daughter didn’t want to come inside, she was obsessed with the sheep and being in the garden! only issue was signal for the firestick/ phones was poor but not an issue.

We had a wonderful stay at 59 Kirkgate in Dumfries. Ben and Vicky’s communication was excellent—friendly, helpful, and responsive. Their flexibility around our arrival and departure was much appreciated. The cottage is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable, with standout beds that made for restful nights after active days outdoors. It’s a perfect base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway, from coastlines to hills. We especially enjoyed the Multiverse, which Ben and Vicky kindly recommended. The cottage has everything for a relaxing break—well-equipped kitchen, thoughtful touches like a gin trolley and milk frother, and a cosy log fire. The central heating kept things toasty too. Our dog was also warmly welcomed, with bowls and a pet-friendly vibe throughout. All in all, 59 Kirkgate is a true home away from home. We’d return in a heartbeat!

Really beautiful place to stay and the host family could not be better! Absolutely lovely people and really helpful, me and my girlfriend had the best time there and I would go back every weekend if I could, could not recommend it enough! The views where amazing and plenty of places to go walking, we didn't have to drive more than 15 minutes to anything we needed like shops and things and the host provides pretty much everything you need to cook up whatever you like! Honestly just book it, you won't regret it!
