Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Cumbria

A last minute cancellation with another property led us to find this one, and we're very glad we did! A beautiful, peaceful location with lovely grounds for the kids (and dog) to play in, and great local walks (there are so many useful guides/maps in the property). The hot tub is such a bonus, and the sheltered veranda allowed us to stay outside even though the weather wasn't amazing. We appreciated the fresh bread/cake/eggs/milk; the cake did not last long 😂. Local village has great pubs, and it's just a short drive to Kirkby Stephen for everything else. Tebay services also convenient for fast charging the EV and a bit of breakfast/shopping. We only had three days, but I'm sure we'll be back again. Thanks for a lovely break ☺️

This is an exceptional chalet and Jennie is absolutely lovely and very customer focused and super responsive. The little details and all the provisions are superb. The hot tub and grounds are stunning and the walls just gorgeous. We were gutted to leave and would love to come back.

Jean’s place was exactly what we wanted. Clean, tidy, and in a prime location to see what nature has to offer. A beautiful place surrounded by more beauty. Jean was extremely friendly and accommodating toward my wife and I and we’ll definitely choose to stay there again when we’re back that way. Thanks for an enjoyable stay Jean.

we stayed for a weekend with friend and it was everything we expected and more, the surrounding area is so peaceful and relaxing, the lodge is beautiful designed very clean and Katie was very welcoming and explained everything we needed to know

Just had 2 nights at Margaret’s lodge, its was absolutely beautiful I took my 2 little girls and they were in there element. Occasional was for a birthday and arrived to a birthday cake and card such a lovely thoughtful touch. Would highly recommend and already looking to book again!

I came to the Mallard Lodge with my husband, 2 lads and their partners to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This lodge was clean, homely, comfortable and very well equipped in the kitchen, bathroom, living room and on the family games front too. The lodge is situated in an area so peaceful and beautiful surroundings and an excellent area for some great walks. We were even greeted with a big, fresh loaf of bread, a lovely Victorian sandwich cake, eggs, butter, sugar, tea, milk and coffee - such a lovely touch. The hot tub was amazing, clean and under cover - which was useful especially when it rained one night!! Jenny and Selena have been so helpful before our trip, on check in and offered lots of advice on local events and amenities. We would have no issues coming back here, in fact ‘we will be back’ Thank you Jennie and Selena - don’t change - you do a fabulous job in making your customers feel very welcome.

I had the most peaceful stay surrounded by idyllic countryside. The lodge had everything I needed for a little cosy escape and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were also very lovely. I would most definitely come back. ☺️

We had a lovely stay at Aspen lodge, the hot tub was clean and well maintained seating 6 people. The lodge was clean and spacious, it had a really homely feeling to it. I was wary it may be cold being a lodge and the time of year but the heated flooring was a lovely feature that kept the place warm and cosy. Check in was a breeze and finding the lodge was made easier as Owen provided detailed instructions on how to find and check in. A very detailed guide was left with recommendations for the area, local services and instructions for appliances. We went to the local pub that has recently changed management and had a great time, food was lovely and reasonably priced. They had a live band on and plenty to entertainment. There is lots in the area to do, Morpeth town centre is a short drive away and The Beresford Arms pub I which I highly recommend for Sunday lunch! We had a great stay and are already looking at returning next year. Being dog friendly was a huge bonus to the booking!

I would highly recommend comfort lodge We really enjoyed our stay. Clean,tidy everything you need in the kitchen. Not to far from shops either
