A comfortable and peaceful place, with good walks and pubs with great food nearby. Giles was fast and easy to communicate with, and checkin and out was easy. The only slight drawback we found was that we were using the space for a work get together, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are more set up for two families sharing as each level had a main bedroom with an ensuite and a smaller bedroom suitable for kids, so 4 individual adults sharing the space didn't work that well for us. But the communal space was great, and for a family holiday it would be perfect.

What an amazing space tucked away on Dartmoor. Superb barn conversion with everything you could need for a break away in this stunning area. We were made to feel very welcome and Steve was very helpful in recommending local places to eat and visit. It was such a peaceful spot with walks on the doorstep and plenty to keep you occupied in the barn as well. Many thanks

Super cottage to stay in. Lovely and quiet with the occasional honk from the geese. Clean, tidy with an excellently appointed kitchen.

The Perfect Getaway! We were in the area to attend a retreat and explore Devon. The Cider Barn was a lovely place to stay and ideally located. Plus our hosts were extremely accommodating - highly recommended.

We had such a lovely time staying at Sandra's! We were a couple with a 1 year old and thought the space was perfect for the three of us. We really appreciated the travel cot provided, and our daughter loved the baby swing in the garden. We couldn't get enough of the beautiful views, and the space with the fireplace was so cosy for a cold winter's stay! Sandra was a great host, very welcoming and helpful, and the recommendations for places to eat were spot on. We'd very happily come back, as it was the perfect location for visiting Exeter, Totnes, and Buckfastleigh!

Beautiful location You just need to take into account the tide times (but this was made clear in the description) Well equipped , spotlessly clean & great to find herbs/spices & cooking oil ( we wanted to cook one of the nights & often things like this aren’t there so you have to bring from home or buy) Overall a really lovely place to stay

A lovely stay, had everything you could possibly need - we had two infants with us and loved the amount of space. Felt like we where out in the countryside but only 5mins from a big food shop. Lots of lovely walks nearby

We had a wonderful stay at The Barn in January. The place was exactly as described if anything I don’t think the photos does the place justice as it seemed even more beautiful once we arrived! It was very quiet and cosy and felt like a proper retreat! Michele was super welcoming and even supplied little gifts for the children and the dogs who attended with us. There was so much thought and care into everything Michele had prepared and we were gutted we hadn’t booked more than 2 nights! Highly recommend this place and will be back to visit again for sure!

Stayed here for 2 nights for valentines weekend for a change of scenery and it was lovely. Sarah was so helpful with instructions and recommendations, the cottage was beautiful and set in a quiet area with plenty to do in driving distance!

Liz was a wonderful host: we checked ourselves in (there’s a keybox but the key had been left in the door for us) and Liz knocked on the door to say hi! She was so lovely and made us feel right at home. We were so impressed with the space: it is spacious and open, very clean and has everything we needed (including a couple of games to keep us entertained). The bed is really comfy, and it was perfect to go to sleep/wake up to the skylight window above us. Easy vicinity to get to all the sights we wanted to see by car. The instructions were helpful and clear so that we knew exactly what to expect when we arrived and we got exactly what we wanted. Would highly recommend!

Sarah goes above and beyond to welcome you (which included freshly baked sourdough delivered on our first morning!) and her barn is beautifully restored in a very peaceful spot - the pictures don’t do it justice! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful property and Leanne was a great host. Family enjoyed the welcome cakes and we had to buy more to bring home! Took my parents to see family and it was not the best for a wheelchair getting out and about due to parking otherwise and hill to main Rd, however all this is explained beforehand. Would stay again if we were on our own or with different family members.

We have had the absolute best stay! The pictures do not do this place justice, very spacious and very homely. You can see and feel the love that was put into the barn. The hosts were fabulous on both check in and check out. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Alan and Davina!

We had a wonderful family Christmas for 8 adults at Jacobs Barn, it is really well equipped with comfy beds and good showers. The rooms are much bigger than they look on the photos, it is really spacious accommodation. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need including a double fridge freezer and double sinks. There is an en-suite bathroom, a separate family bathroom and a downstairs WC. The village is walkable and has a good shop and a couple of friendly pubs. The local area is beautiful for walking and the views are glorious. I imagine the garden would be lovely to sit in over the summer months. We were able to buy sacks of logs through Sue in advance so they were there ready for us when we arrived and the wood stove was a great addition. The barn was warm and the heating was on when we arrived. There was also a lovely Christmas tree in the lounge. We would definitely recommend Jacob’s Barn for family groups it’s superb and we would love to go back.

The house was beautiful, very peaceful location, a little off the beaten track but that is what we wanted. We love that part of Cornwall and where the house is located makes it’s very easy to visit our favourite places by car such as Padstow, Rock and Bude. We would defiantly recommend it and are looking to visit again in the spring.

5 adults and 4 children( 1x9yrs 2x 2.5 yrs and 1x 14months) enjoyed the spacious cottage for a week. Everything was as described. We loved viditing the sheep and horses. The games room was a bonuscparticularly gor the adults. A great place from which to explore the variety of things N Devon has to offer.

This was a great place to stay. Even it was the middle of February and the temperature rarely got to 5 degrees the barn was cosy. It is a lovely set of spaces and plenty of room for two people. For nature lovers this is a great base for walking, but at this time of year there's a lot of mud to contend with. After all, it is located on the Somerset Levels!

A lovely little place to stay for a couple of nights - nothing really to do in the area so more for if you’re wanting to get away from it all. Very well equipped and clean. Excellent host, really friendly and great communication. Would definitely stay again if we were to travel back to the area. We were staying for a wedding at treetop escapes - very close to the venue

Magical stay in the heart of Devon’s countryside! A true gem for those seeking peace, comfort, and a slower pace of life. Surrounded by nature, it’s the perfect place to unwind, read, and reconnect with the simple joys of life. The location was great to explore South and North Devon at the same time. The cabin itself is beautifully designed, combining rustic charm with all the modern amenities you could need. The bed is incredibly comfortable—like sinking into a cloud after a day spent exploring the surroundings. Shelves lined with sooo many quality books make it a “must” to curl up with a good read by the soft glow of the stove fire and candles. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the host. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and generosity, a true “filoxenia”. Frances left us with delicious homemade treats that added a heartwarming touch (and a bit of sweet nostalgia with our favourite “gigantes”). We’ll definitely return soon!

We had a great stay here. The photos matched the listing, had a private garden perfect for the dogs & had a great log fire to make up for the terrible weather. Great having use of the private field as well for the dogs which they loved having a run around with

Lovely property very spacious for our family. Very rural and quiet. The track to it has to be driven fairly slowly . Laurence was very helpful with a couple of queries we had. Would recommend for exploring the north coast of Devon.
