Phonephet is a great host, full of love about his island and the community living on the island. Perfect place if you’re looking for some me-time and a short break from the regular backpacking life for a little while. Please note that the island nor the small ‘port’ to get to the island are not plotted on online maps (yet). But Phonephet is a very responsive host, and gives you clear instructions on how to get there. Many thanks for the time I got to spend with you and your family, Phonephet!

We had great time at this place. We swam in the river and it was so nice! It was a bit difficult to get up without a ladder ( you could easily get ladder in there), but we managed. :) Great place, I would recommend highly! The staff was lovely!

What a wonderful stay! We had a favorite for this peaceful place and for Sander and Tanoi, who are two great hosts. If you are looking to live Laotian life, away from tourist areas and in the middle of harvesting, then this bungalow is the perfect place. The food is really great and everything is done to make your stay as perfect as possible. It was with great emotion that we had to leave Don Som and will be happy to come back!
