Monthly Rentals in Duns

The Den was a prefect location for us, being within a half hour's drive of all the places we needed to be. It was an extremely warm, clean, comfortable and equipped accommodation with everything and anything you could possible need for a stay of either days, weeks or months! Amanda was a fantastic host who made the time to welcome us and check we had everything we needed. We very much appreciated the tea, coffee and milk supplies - also the shortbread, fudge & wine! Our 11 year-old pretty much commandeered the TV once he realised there was access to Disney+ It was a brief, but extremely comfortable stay. We will definitely return on future visits to the area. This was a last minute decision to book and we were not disappointed. What a great little place. The cottage has everything a couple would need and the log burner kept us very cosy. Whilst the cottage is on a small holding/farm, the cottage feels very private, with the security of the owners being close by. We pre-ordered the Lamb Tagine for our first night and it was excellent as were the complimentary brownies there for us on arrival. Great place to just kick back and chill. We will be back.

A very peaceful place to stay. Everything was clean and had everything we needed. I got the impression that this was a part of the country that the masses had not yet discovered. An evening stroll along the country road and I did not encounter a single car. Driving around the local area was a pleasure as the roads were very quiet. My family and I particularly enjoyed a day trip to the little fishing village of St Abbs. We also drove over the border into Northumberland to travel on the light railway at Heatherslaw. It is one of the advantages of the location that you can enjoy the delights of the Scottish Borders as well as Northumberland. In the evening, back at the house, we rediscovered the joys of playing a family board game (Kerplunk and Connect 4). Being a city dweller I found even a simple thing such as being able to sleep with the bedroom window open without being disturbed by traffic and being gently awakened by a Song Thrush singing in the garden a real pleasure.

Beautiful cottage. V clean and very well equipped. V peaceful location. Large kitchen. Road has many potholes but we were forewarned. I would recommend for a quiet break with easy access to many attractions.
