Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Essex

This was my first booking with Airbnb so I didnt really know what to expect but Mel has certainly set the standard. She is a friendly, helpful, honest, and incredibly responsive host. The house was exactly as described and the quiet location was perfect for us. We'll definitely stay again when we return to Mersea Island, which was beautiful too!

Myself my husband and our 4 children stayed along with my brother and sister in law with their child and we absolutely loved our time over new years at Victoria’s. It’s a beautiful home, extremely spacious upstairs and downstairs, was plenty of room for 9 of us with absolutely everything you need and more. We went to Felixstowe beach one day which was about 25 mins, short walk to shops/Tesco if you need anything. We all said we would definitely stay again, great communication and super friendly host. This was an absolutely perfect stay. The house is enormous yet homely, beautifully appointed and with the most breathtaking views. The pool and spa are an added bonus and the path down to the beach / estuary is gorgeous. All in all an absolutely fabulous place and we will be back. Thank you xxx

David and Jo were excellent hosts. Every little detail had been carefully thought out, and taken care of. They were extremely kind and thoughtful throughout our stay, and could not have been more helpful. The cottage itself is so charming, and beautifully presented. Quiet and peaceful, a perfect haven to come back to. We will most definitely be back.

Generally speaking the location was absolutely fab, staying on a weekend meant there were no issues with parking, closest tube station was within a 15 minute walk and plenty of shops nearby. Easy check in and the neighbourhood felt safe. The only thing I ‘personally’ felt awkward with is that was the space was very lived in. Meaning that luggage couldn’t be stored away as drawers etc were full with personal belongings. Other than that, it’s still winter/spring so having to message to get the heater back on felt like I was bothering mark and sally and I don’t want to do that. They’re lovely and helpful, and these aren’t complaints by the way. Last but not least always double check amenities. Would definitely consider staying here again though.

Had a fantastic stay. Location was perfect. House had everything we needed with loads of extras. The kids really appreciated the toys and books in particular. We’ll definitely look to stay again next time we’re visiting

We had a lovely weekend stay at Ellie's place. It was in a great location which felt safe and was quiet, it was also really easy to get into central London from there. The house was lovely, clean and cosy - we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

This airbnb is perfect, if you are reading the negative reviews dont judge this place on peoples reviews. The place is clean and nice had a great weekend to relax. Jacuzzi works nicely and is clean. Will defo be coming back.

Good accommodation in a beautiful area, very quiet, perfect for a " getaway." Accommodation was very clean.

Mark was a gracious and responsive host. Mark pro-actively checked- in with me regarding the comfort and satisfaction of the flat. The flat was clean, comfortable and as pictured. The location felt safe and is an idea location close to the train and within walking distance to lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. Should I return to Southend-On-Sea, I would book again.

Beautiful setting, clean room - just what we needed for a brief stay during a wedding. Great communication and pretty setting, would recommend!

The apartment has character, exactly as shown in the photos. The neighbourhood is residential, with houses next to each other. As the houses do not have garages, the street tends to be filled with cars, which can make parking a bit challenging. The cafés and restaurants nearby are excellent. I recommend following Liza's tips.

Our stay with Paul was exceptional from start to finish. Paul gave us such a warm welcome and tour of the property. The place was laid out and designed brilliant and Paul has thought of everything from muffin's and prosecco to the hair straighteners You can tell Paul takes a lot of pride in hosting and the stay was absolutely perfect in a beautiful set with beautiful surroundings Very very good value for money..I would expect to pay alot more for what we had We will definitely be back very soon

Ivy was an outstanding host. Her communications were fast and she was really helpful. The stay was great, an easy to find location and exactly as described. Everything was clean and all our needs were met. The location is easily walkable to the nearest tube station and yet really quiet so we had a really peaceful nights sleep. Overall I highly recommend booking here and we will certainly be returning guests. A 10 out of 10 experience from start to finish.

Vikki-Jo was attentively welcoming with the most efficient responsiveness we've experienced on Airbnb. The cabin was roomy, rustic and perfect for us. The hot tub toasty warm and spotless. We had a little spider friend in the shower room who popped his head out to say hi occasionally, but we liked them. It was totally private away from the main property and everything was as described. The whole stay was a perfect experience from the moment we booked right up to the moment we left. This is how Airbnb should be done. A true 5 star experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think it was competitively priced for a stay with a hot tub which we enjoyed after walking around Colchester Zoo all day. Thank you Vikki-Jo for our wonderful stay 💐

Beautiful area super peaceful. Easy check in with a super helpful guest. Was surprised at how large the garden was, perfect for my dog! Well furnished and clean nothing was tatty. Fresh milk, bread and cake on arrival which was a lovely treat. Cows were super friendly too! Thank you so much, I will definitely be back!

Amanda was the perfect host for a wonderful property. We loved the fully fenced and well maintained yard, a secluded hot tub, and the great gated area. The house was equipped with all necessities. We visited the nearby pubs which were all very welcoming with great ales and food. We will definitely come back.

we loved our stay here, despite the rain! The new pagoda meant we could still enjoy the hot tub. Our little ones loved it too! Everything we needed.

Had a lovely time , wish we could have stayed longer very responsive host , very clean , not expensive and exactly as advertised. We were also running a bit late at check out time and the host graciously extended the time at no extra cost … also a cheeky bottle of Prosecco in the fridge which was a nice touch . We will be staying again

Chris and his wife were wonderful hosts—warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. My wife, our small dog, and I had a fantastic stay. Thoughtful touches were everywhere: coffee, milk, cereal, even dog bowls and treats—perfect for dog lovers. The photos and description are spot on; the place is just as lovely in person. One evening we returned late to find the outside lights had been left on for us—such a kind gesture. We were also offered a later checkout without even asking, which was really appreciated. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

We came here to rest and recharge. With two teenagers and two dogs, had an amazing time in cabin 2 with its beautiful surroundings. The cabin was gorgeous, really clean and tidy, well equipped kitchen, cozy and surprisingly spacious living space. Oh and the shower room felt like I was in a spa! The hamper was a lovely touch, with eggs from the farm and proper milk in a glass bottle (big thumbs up from me), yummy lemon drizzle cake, and more. Plenty of essentials. Everything was really well detailed in a handbook. Very comfortable sleep and didn't get woken up by the cows, or any other farm animals. The hot tub was such a treat. Took us quite a while to heat it up the first day, but it was well worth the wait, and is well insulated so day two was much quicker. Felt very safe and the garden was large and secure. Very, very dog friendly. Will definitely come again and have recommended it already to friends and family. Thank you and looking forward to visiting again xx
