We had a great stay. The pictures matched the space and we enjoyed the convince to Volcano. It was plenty of room for our family of 4 with comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped and the grocery store was close. The host was welcoming and left some local touches such as a tour book, recommendations, and fresh citrus. I recommend this spot for those looking to stay nearby to Volcano and Hilo and enjoy the natural environment.

Doug's place was everything we were looking for. A good location between volcanoes national park and Kona. Very quite location. Would come back again.

If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Everything was great! Beautiful location, easy to get to, easy to get places, great suggestions! We couldn’t have asked for a better host. We can’t wait to go back

Wendy and David were absolutely lovely. The hale was gorgeous, perfectly integrated with nature. The lanai and bathroom are gems. We had the most delicious orange / tangerine of our lives right off the tree in the front yard.

We loved our stay with Roy and Joy! The location can’t be beat - the views are amazing and the property beautiful and well maintained. Roy and Joy’s friendliness and generosity made this place unique and special. We loved all the fresh fruit they shared from their garden as well as their advice on places to go. We were thrilled to be in what felt like a remote oasis, with easy access to some cool places. For example, we had fun snorkeling and exploring at Two Steps, which you can see from the house! We were grateful for the extra things they had available like fins and masks, beach chairs, and yoga mats. Not to mention their yummy coffee!

We really enjoyed our short stay at Big Island Cottage #1 The place was clean and fit our needs. Cherie is a great host and provided us with fast and friendly communication. Definitely recommend renting from Cherie.

Loved getting to pick the oranges and having fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning and sitting out on the patio and enjoying the view. Also, eating the banana’s from the banana trees. It was a relaxing place to stay.

We had such a lovely stay. The house and surroundings are beautiful. We enjoyed resting on the peaceful porch, and my daughter enjoyed the quiet streets to get her runs in. The beds were comfortable and the house was cozy - we felt right at home. The house is perfectly located for the airport (27 min), road to Hāna (10 min), the harbor for whale watching tour (30 min - I recommend Pacific Whale Foundation), Mama’s Fish House (10 min), and the Haleakalā summit for sunrise (1hr, 10 min). The house had everything we needed, including beach chairs! Dave and Natalie were kind, welcoming, and helpful. For food, we thoroughly enjoyed Freshie’s for breakfast after the Haleakalā sunrise and ramen at the Haikushi food tuck near the grocery store. Mama’s fish house was pricey but worth it! Definitely heed Natalie’s recommendation to make reservations early.

We loved our stay at Krista’s place. It was fun getting daily visits from the little calico kitty and we enjoyed watching all the birds and geckos in the surrounding bamboo and banana trees. It was great to have a washing machine and dryer, as well as beach towels, chairs and umbrella. Krista provided excellent beach recommendations. Our favorite beach was Ho’okena, a 25 minute drive away from the house. Great snorkeling. We appreciated the delicious coffee, salad greens, and fruit that Krista provided from her own farm. Krista is an excellent host in every way – friendly, communicative and helpful.

Home away from home! Loved the outside bathroom and the visits from the cats and dogs and listening to the frogs and birds. A beautiful peaceful place on this earth!! Easy walk to the trailhead for walking down to snorkel…bring plenty of water. We would definitely stay here again!!

Todd’s place was a peaceful paradise. We were greeted with the lovely tropical sounds of birds, frogs, and crickets amongst the tropical plants and a gorgeous sunset which you could see from the lanai and also inside the house. The house is beautiful and spacious. It was very comfortable for the four of us. We were able to cook, play games, and in general enjoy our time in the house . Todd gave us a tour of his farm and some fresh vegetables. He laid out snorkeling gear for us to choose from . He was always extremely responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful time and would love to stay here again.

This place was stunning. I could go on and on about all of the wonderful things about this place. Every evening I was gifted with an incredible sunset. The songs of the frogs lulled me to sleep each night only to wake up to the songs of the birds in the morning. The property is not only lush and green but isolated, private and wonderfully peaceful. The local Kona Only market on Sunday, the poke shop down the street, the local Hawaiian lau lau shop and the excellent Coffee Shack restaurant leave you missing nothing from the tourist center of Kailua Kona except the crowds, cars and hustle and bustle of a crowded tourist center. Great snorkeling and beaches within 15 minutes.

The location was perfect- about 20 mins away from everything! Erin was a wonderful host who was always on top of things. She sent us some recommendations to check out while on Big Island, which was very helpful due to it being our first time there! Her BNB was perfect for 2! It was clean, spacious and cozy! If I return to Big Island, I will definitely stay here again. It was perfect!

We are back to visit Starseed Ranch again and again! This time we stayed in the Ohana Suite with a private bathroom and kitchen. The room was very large and beautiful with sliding screened doors and windows with a private sitting area. If you want to get away from it all and stay in gorgeous surroundings this place is it! The area near the Pololu Valley Lookout is completely magical and Starseed Ranch has its' own magic within it. The hosts are wonderful and the grounds are gorgeous with outdoor eating and sitting areas that include an outdoor gourmet kitchen as well. The yoga room that sits near the creek is a wonderful space to practice or relax in while taking in the breeze, listening to the birds, and the water running along the creek. The stars at night are amazing. We will be back every year to stay at Starseed Ranch as there is no place as magical as this. Thank you Dash and Erika!

It was a nice place. Pretty view! Cold in the mornings, we used the space heater. The neighbors were a little noisy, someones dogs were barky too. Prepare with a small cooler if doing day trips, for beach time, there isn't one to borrow.

Great cottage overlooking greenspace with a view of the ocean. The space is clean, well equipped, comfortable, and cozy. We did a lot of adventuring around the island, but the cottage was a wonderful home base. A bit away from the bustle and tourists, which we enjoyed!

The hosts have thought of everything for a perfectly restful, and sustainably lush getaway — including farm fresh eggs from happy Hana hens. I loved sipping my freshly ground coffee while watching the morning light fill the cottage across the windows that wrap around the entire length of cottage. A sublime experience!

A wonderful, cozy home-away-from-home. Beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything we needed (including beach chairs, umbrella and cooler). The bed was very comfy too. Quiet, peaceful - a wee bit of paradise. Watching the sunsets over the ocean from the gazebo was an awesome daily event too. Mahalo, Donna and Robbie, for sharing your lovely home with us. 🌺

Lynn's Airbnb is a private, quiet space in a semi-rural family neighborhood. It's beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and has a kitchen fully stocked with utensils, towels, gadgets, and everything you'll need to feel comfortable. Lynn provided lovely beach chairs, a fabulous beach umbrella, a cooler, and cheerful beach towels for us to use. I really enjoyed this space, along with the beautiful patio. Views from Lynn's property are unbeatable! The neighborhood is quiet, lush, and green. It's a welcome space away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Kona, but amazingly close if you want to go anywhere downtown. I also appreciated the fast, reliable WIFI. Lynn is also a very professional host who is proactive, responsive, welcoming, and very gracious. I highly recommend Lynn and this Airbnb, and would stay here again if I have the opportunity. Wonderful neighborhood with a country feel, and nearby village. Loved the lanai with sunset views! Felt like we were in the "real" Hawaii and not just a tourist area. Wished there was a little more privacy with the bathroom and shower, but we accommodated.

Very spacious with beautiful views. The location was perfect for us, as we prefer quiet; but yet was an easy drive to get to Hilo. We definitely recommend this cute place.

we loved our stay, Matt and Rose's place was the perfect getaway for our 'Baby-moon'. the space is so peaceful and so much more beautiful than the pictures let on. we loved it here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. we would stay again in a heartbeat. thanks so much Matt and Rose!

Good value for money!

What a great stay! Nice and private - the ocean view and sunrises were perfect! The porch and outdoor eating spaces were awesome. The house was clean and had everything we could think of that we’d need. And that pool was pretty snazzy, too! Everything was just perfect.
