Very clean and well maintained home. Kitchen was well stocked with pans and other utensils. Our grandkids didn’t want to leave the awesome basement!

Extremely friendly hosts that are easy to work with and nice, clean place that looked as advertised.

Recommended place to stay with families

Beautiful and peaceful home surrounded by nature. We were looking to “unplug” and spend quality time together. We loved the pond, birdwatching and the hot tub on cold nights. The house is perfect and has everything you need. Downtown Galena is only a short ride away and we enjoyed learning about its rich history. Thank you for letting us into your cozy home.

Our company employees enjoyed staying at the lake house. They said it was very quite & peaceful, and was a retreat to come back to after a long day at work. Rebecca was so responsive, kind and helpful, and our employees have asked to return to the house for future Marissa, IL stays. Thank you, Rebecca, for making their stay so enjoyable!

Great place to stay!! We would definitely stay again. We came for our daughter's graduation from bootcamp and it was convenient and no traffic to and from Great Lakes Naval Base.

Great spot to go with friends and family. They have a water park, arcade, mini golf, and an ice cream place. We had a fun time at this resort and would definitely do it again!

I take my kids riding at Fox Valley Off Road every Labor Day, and this resort is the perfect place to stay. It provides a lot of activities for the kids when we’re not riding. The kids love it. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I stayed two nights here with my daughter to visit U of I. Perfect location for visiting the school. Yan greeted us and we chatted over tea. Room was comfortable, bathroom was clean and we felt right at home.

This resort is clean and plenty of activities to enjoy. Also a very peaceful area to enjoy nature.

Traveled with my husband, teenage daughter and our puppy. Pet friendly! Super clean and fresh! Hot tub was an attractive amenity. Host is very responsive and the site is just off of major roads so it is easy to find, yet also quiet. Very central to all the must see sites near Shawnee National Forest. Lots of amenities packed into a small space. Great for a long weekend stay!

We had three families stay with young children. Loved the club house & hot tub on site. Dan was very responsive. Place is cozy.

This place is so worth it! Geloria’s cabin is fantastic. We had to change our honeymoon plan last minute but we were able to talk to her and made a reservation painlessly. The cabin turned out to be better than our original plan! We will come back again for our anniversary for sure. Rechel & Ploy

Adams Rock cabin was a great home base for our Shawnee trip! The place looks exactly as pictured/described. We appreciated the Native American decor as well as informative books in the cabin. The location is not super remote, but the large yard was perfect for our kids and dog to play and just enjoy being outside. We particularly enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the fire pit! For others traveling with kids, it is worth knowing that the loft bedroom is up a steep ladder without any particularly good way to block the ladder at the bottom or top. The kitchen was equipped with necessities but not a lot of extras. If you’re planning to pack picnic lunches for your hikes, make sure to bring storage containers! Overall, we had a wonderful stay, appreciated all of Mary’s helpful communication, and really enjoyed exploring a new-to-us part of the country!

Fun stay! My boys loved the games. The location was perfect for getting to the state parks. It was quiet during the week we were there, but I hear the little town nearby has lots of festivals and such. We did not go to the Lodge for the waterpark or mini golf, but will inquire next time. We were able to run around the villas and get some exercise without traffic. Pretty well stocked with everyday items in the kitchen. Bring your toiletries with you. We would like to stay again and recommend this place.

My family greatly enjoyed this home for our trip to Galena! The location was lovely and very convenient to the downtown area, as well as other spots we wanted to get to, such as Dubuque and the amazing antique mall in Elizabeth. The home itself was lovely and matched the description perfectly. The kitchen was well appointed and included a waffle iron and complimentary waffle/pancake mix! We appreciated that the bathrooms were stocked with towels, extra toilet paper, and soaps. The kids all loved playing on the air hockey table and dart board, and we all enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. The rooms were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets to go around. The hosts were incredibly responsive and had great recommendations for local restaurants and activities. Check in/out was very easy. Overall we would definitely recommend this home and would book again if our travels take us back to Galena!

We have stayed here more than once and it is consistently a relaxing and cozy retreat. Highly recommend this space for reading, relaxing, and recharging!
