Surfing, beaches, fynbos, bird life, hiking, fires under open skies, outside showers, sunsets and yoga sessions on the balcony with views of mountain and the ocean. We are one hour drive from the famous Cederberg mountain rock climbing spots. As a family we try to support local where possible, speak to our manager Audrey if you need anything for your stay.

Thornbay Accommodation is the prime accommodation in Doringbaai, a small town in Southern Namaqualand, West Coast of South Africa. All our apartments are individual and are fully equipped for self catering. (Just bring your beach towel, your food and toiletries). Each apartment has its own entrance, ablutions and its own patio and braai area with panoramic sea views accompanied with breath- taking sunsets of the Atlantic Ocean.

The house is large enough to comfortably contain 3 families , with each having their own private space downstairs. Pls note we do not accept groups of friends to stay in the dormitory.. it is expressly for the use of children . Upstairs it has expansive views of the mountain and ocean , with social areas leading off the kitchen and onto the deck. It has a relaxed aesthetic , perfect for a beach breakaway.
