Monthly Rentals in Ollaberry

Southouse is a lovely old croft in beautiful surroundings. The property is very quaint. A little cold for me but fine for everyone else in the party (fire could not be used which would have been cosy). Loft area was toasty but you’re not in with the everyone up there. Best to take your own hairdryer if you need one. Seating for 4 in sitting room. But plenty other chairs if there are more of you. TV was intermittent but not an issue for us. Plenty games and books provided. Location is stunning.

Bruce and Jeans cottage was a wonderful place for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary and bring in the new year. It was warm and cozy and Bruce, Jean and their family were so kind and helpful. They even helped tow us when we were struggling with the snow. We will definitely come back to stay here in better weather!

Inga is the most attentive, responsive and helpful AirBnB host I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with in 30+ years of renting AirBnBs. ~ Scarpoe’s Kitchen is a delightful, modern interior (rustic stone exterior), well appointed cottage in a wild, beautiful and wonderfully isolated area. It’s a snug, comfortable refuge a bit farther from the madding crowd. It’s obvious that Inga (and husband Clive) have invested significant thought, time, energy and money into making Scarpoe’s Kitchen a warm, inviting, safe refuge in the middle of a wild, windblown landscape. They even have thriving, live houseplants! It was my second time at Scarpoe’s and I will certainly head straight for Scarpoe’s Kitchen if I return to Shetland.

The cottage was spotless and very well equipped. The rural location was totally quiet and peaceful, just as we like it, while being convenient to access most areas of Shetland. Karen was a wonderful host, very helpful, understanding and flexible when a storm changed our travel arrangements. We will certainly be back for another visit in future.
