Monthly Rentals in Penang Island

Roland is the best host we ever had on Airbnb. He was so helpful, generous, kind, proactive! He took us to three different supermarkets on our first morning. We had flown a long way and we were very tired so it was great that next day we didn't even had to think. He drove us and waited for us to go shopping for food. His apartment is amazing! He has everything you can possibly need. Everything! I could cook without any problems. He has many pots, pans, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, hoover, everything... even stuff for my daughter to play in the swimming pool. We were very happy there and felt like home. It was peaceful, there are no noisy neighbours, the view of the ocean is very calming. I am very happy we chose his place on our stay in Penang. Thank you very much Roland :)

I stayed in one of Wendy & Sharon's apartments for 6 weeks - had lived in Penang previously so my decision to stay at Straits Quay was well thought through. The 101 bus runs from the Clan Jetties bus depot all the way up to the National Park, via the Komtar bus depot. So super handy for everything and the bus stops in both directions are a short walk from Straits Quay. The 102 bus from the airport stops right outside Straits Quay, but I arranged an airport pick-up via W&S and that worked really well. The apartment I stayed in exactly matched the photos, was stylishly decorated, comfortable and well stocked with kitchen equipment and utensils - when I needed a hand blender for a daily food regimen and asked W&S if I could borrow one, they arranged delivery the next day. Wonderful and caring service. Couldn't fault anything! I'd have liked a sea view of course but had known this apartment was on the other side of the building when I booked it .... so as expected! Tang was a great host. We really loved this place. The price was right so we didn't expect much. But we really loved the place and the neighborhood. The wifi was super fast (we are nomads), the kitchen was fully equipped. We only needed 1 bedroom but there were three. The AC works great and the water pressure is great and hot. This is local living in Malaysia (TOTALLY SAFE). We were curious what local living would be like here in Georgetown so we rented for a month. There are several markets and restaurants right in the building. You never need to cook if you don't want but the kitchen is equipped if you do. The best thing is ... this neighborhood is walkable to colonial-era Georgetown if that is why you are here. And there is a mall just a few blocks away (and a gym). We love local living! We will be back to see Tang and his cute little apartment wherever we are in Georgetown. The photos tell the whole story. You get what you see. We loved this place!

Zoe’s place was overall very good. Very well equipped and spacious. Comfy sofa and bed. Lovely views - you can see the sea and cruise ships coming in! Large fridge and freezer. Everything worked well. Shower was strong and hot. Zoe was great at communicating with us on whatapp & check in was a breeze! Things that were out of Zoe’s control - the neighbours upstairs were very loud. On the first day there was construction directly above us, so much so I could smell the dust. But this luckily was only 1-day as it was then public holiday. They also were quite noisy moving chairs and furniture late at night around 11:30/12pm so we had to wear ear plugs. Maybe just check with Zoe the dates of construction so you don’t get a nasty surprise at your stay! Pool was very very cold, like a plunge pool, as it sits in the shade all day. As a little tip - would be fab to have a bigger duvet as it was too small for the bed and a mirror outside of the bathroom as it was a little dark!
