Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Powys

Had a lovely few days stay. Was a very tranquil location and very relaxing. Stopping by to see the animals on site was a wonderful experience. The kitchen was equiped with enough pans to make meals while we stayed there. The shop was a wonderful touch to pick up produce from the farm or just a few ammenities that might be needed. So relaxing to sit in the hot tub in the evening after exploring local attractions which have very helpfully been highlighted in a small guide. Looking to return in summer to make full use of the bbq on site and firepit.

We had a really lovely stay at Carol’s shepherd’s hut. It was cosy and in such an idyllic location where we were able to fully wind down and relax for our stay. The added touches made a difference and Carol was proactive in her communication which was lovely. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We had such a lovely time at the shepherds hut, a perfectly peaceful and quiet get away - just what we needed! Great location for picturesque walks. We walked along Offas Dyke took 2.5 hrs straight from the hut. The local town had everything you needed only a short drive or 20 min walk away. We grabbed a takeaway pizza from Daphnes which was very delicious. Despite wet weather all weekend it did not dampen our spirits. The covered kitchen was a perfect location to cosy up and watch the thunder and lightning. It had everything you needed to make breakfast. The provided bread, bacon, eggs & milk were a lovely addition. The bed was very very comfy and the hut was clean, tidy & cosy. The hill up to the hut is steep but the provided wheelbarrow helped. Leaving in the rain was hilarious.

We loved our stay, thank you! We wanted a quiet and relaxing way to ring in the New Year after a busy Christmas, and this was perfect. The cabin was cosy and warm, even during 50mph winds!

AMAZING stay in a nearby paradise. Everything you need to connect back to nature. Cosy and beautiful - would have stayed there forever if we could have!

The Cowboys hut was a beautifully made hut in an idyllic location. Danna left a lovely welcome hamper on arrival and the hut was clean and tidy. The log fire kept us toasty and we would love to visit again.

Perfectittle shepherds hut, couldn't of asked for a better stay the host was amazing and was very accommodating, will definitely stay again couldn't recommend it enough to get away from the noise of the city :)

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday weekend and WOW!!!! We had the best time ever and couldn’t recommend this place enough. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, the hut was spotless and the decorations were absolutely beautiful!! The Easter decor was so cute and the hosts also added a few birthday decorations which was lovely! The hot tub and log burner were so lovely especially on an evening. The hut also had cards and board games which me and boyfriend didn’t stop playing!! It was lovely to be able play with the dogs on the field to see the farm animals before we left. Overall we had the best weekend ever and did not want to leave, 10/10!!!! We will definitely be back xxx

My partner and I (and our dog!) spent the Easter long weekend in this beautiful shepherds hut located on the canal! It was absolutely perfect. The hut was equipped with everything we needed. There were so many beautiful sights and hikes we could visit from the hut, not to mention the Osprey that had just nested nearby! The yard was perfect for our dog as it’s all fenced in and had plenty of room for him to roam. Bathrooms were spotless with amazing water pressure. We highly recommend the three Horsehoes Inn, which is just a short drive away and had amazing food and atmosphere. We couldn’t recommend this shepherds hut anymore! Big thank you to Emma who was super responsive and wonderful. We can’t wait to come back ☺️

Wow...just WOW! This place is a little slice of heaven. Amazing location. So peaceful. The hut had everything you needed. Super comfy and cozy. Sian and Jack are just the best hosts. They gave us everything we needed to make out stay ideal. Friendly, welcoming and informative re all the bits and bobs in the local area. Make sure you do the Bryn Arw and Sugar Loaf circular and stop at the Crown for a well earned pint or too.

We enjoyed a last minute, two-night break and did not want to leave! Peace and tranquility are in abundance here. We can’t wait to return!

Thank you Dominie for providing a wonderful place to stay. The setting was idyllic, overlooking beautiful fields, valley and hills. The shepherds hut is set in a private location on a quiet family farm. It's very peaceful and relaxing. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and perfect for a retreat. The location is an easy 15-20min drive to local shops (Waitrose etc) and some nice local restaurants in Abergavenny, and a similar distance to some great spots to walk / climb up the Brecon Beacons (National Trust Pont ar Daf and Pen Y Fan). I'd definitely be back.

This was easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve been, the photos are unable to capture the serenity of the space and Jony and Pippa were truly wonderful people. If you are looking for somewhere to completely escape the busy normalities of life and just sit and appreciate a space I can’t suggest this place enough. They were such considerate hosts and we don’t doubt we’ll be back again. Everything about this place is made with creative love and it’s really inspiring to see.

We loved staying here, the lodge was absolutely spotless and was fully kitted out with everything you’d need. The garden was beautiful and the views were amazing, was perfectly cordoned off for our dog to run around. Liz was great, so lovely and helpful on arrival. Couldn’t fault anything. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Plenty of walks around and close town to go for a nice drink in the day!

Fabulous stay from beginning to end. Communication with the host (Sarah) was excellent and we were kept informed from the moment I booked our stay. The luxury shepherds hut was so comfortable and we had everything we needed and more. The double bed was so comfortable and we were very cosy with the log burner and under floor heating. The extra touches Sarah had made for my partners birthday were really appreciated and made our stay extra special. The setting and views would be hard to beat and using the hot tub, under the stars was truly magical. Our dogs were safely enclosed in our private garden and had treats, towels, bowls etc ready for use. I highly recommend this unique hut and the hard work that has gone into making it so perfect. Thank you Sarah and Jon for making our stay so special.

We had an amazing time at the snug. We loved being visited by the sheep, lambs, horses and cows. It was so peaceful and we were greeted by such a lovely friendly family and their pooch. The steep drive up the lane, once through the gate to the snug is very gravely and dips with larger stones at times. You do get up there as long as you take it slowly. The reward once there are the amazing views. The bed was really comfortable, great sleep. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit out and eat. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

We have just returned from our minimoon after our wedding on Friday. Our stay exceeded our expectations! Bryn's communication was exceptional. He was flexible with our plans changing to include our fur baby, answered messages quickly and with accurate map Pins to make places easy to find. His recommendations were great, the nearby pub 'The Ravon' - delicious food, attentive staff and a cosy atmosphere. The nearby indian, wow the best we've had and the 'Bay Tree Cafe' what a gem! Bryn was friendly, approachable and went above and beyond to make our stay special with newly wed bunting, a bottle of bubbles and some homemade produce which was super tasty. Everything from the property itself, to the log burner, views and hot tub made our stay one we will never forget. It was a really special time as we enjoyed our new bubble as husband and wife! We will definitely return, Bryn has a special set-up here and his personable approach makes it. We will be regualars how. The Listers x

had a fantastic stay at the shepherds hut! The hut was very clean and cosy with everything provided. the surrounding views of the hills and mountains were outstanding! Beth as a host was amazing, she made sure we had everything we need and went extra doing things like lighting the hot tub so it was ready for our arrival. my gf and I are already talking about coming back, I couldn't recommend this place enough!
