Cabin holiday rentals in Reykjavík

Such a fabulous cabin in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hot tub was a bonus. We used it several times during our four nights stay. The cabin was spotlessly clean had every amenity to make us more than comfortable throughout our stay, the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Such a wonderful place, we really didn’t want to leave. Make sure you stock up on groceries when you pass a supermarket (as the nearest one open during our stay was a 25 minute drive) and you won’t want for a thing. We forgot to purchase some sugar for our hot drinks, so Matthias, one of the hosts, called round within a couple of hours with a bag of sugar cubes for us. Amazing service! The horses in the adjoining field were a delight to watch and kept my daughter entertained for hours. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

The cabin was away from the city which was what we wanted. Unfortunately we happened to stay when there was a storm so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful views. You definitely need 4 wheel drive during the winter, be barely made it up the driveway most nights even with 4 wheel drive. The cabin is small but functional, plenty of kitchenware to cook at home. If we were here durning the summer I would really enjoy the deck. Overall it was a nice stay!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Katrin's cabin. The road getting in has a bunch of potholes and can be icy but the 4x4 with studs we rented worked great and we made it through with no issues. The cabin is cozy and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well maintained. Only negatives were there was no path cleared of snow to the hot tub so we couldn't use it. The hill you have to walk up from the driveway was extremely icy. A railing along the path or maybe some kind of steps would be helpful. A great place to stay overall.

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

These cabins are so magical and beautiful. This is our 2nd stay here and we love it. This place holds a lot of sentimental value after getting engaged here in November 2022. The cabins are clean and cosy, and in a great location. Close drive to Reykjavík but also remote and peaceful. We saw the Northern lights from here, and enjoyed some beautiful snow. The hot tub is a perfect addition and very welcomed after days exploring the breathtaking scenery of Iceland. Would recommend again and again. We will be back again!

The weather was AWFUL when we stayed but it was SO cosy inside, never felt such warm underfloor heating! Probably the best stocked airbnb we've been to, from oil, pasta and spices, to body wash and washing machine tablets. Everything you could need. Helgi sent location and was no problem to find. Great location- private but only 10 min to local supermarket & vinbudin (alcohol shop!) etc. The hot tub was warm & quite protected from the wind, it was a shame we could not turn the outside lights off to assist with trying to see the northern lights, but otherwise great place to stay.

We loved our stay at Tumis place!! Watching the Northern Lights in the hot tub is something I’ll never forget!! The surroundings are stunning a well!

Very attractive and comfortable cabin in a beautiful area which feels entirely private despite being only an hour from Reykjavik. Great base for hiking or sightseeing. We had five days here and felt we only scratched the surface of what the area has to offer. Cabin is very well and thoughtfully equipped. Matthias was a great host and offered fantastic recommendations of things to do and see. No hesitation at all in recommending.

We had a wonderful stay in the cabin. If you are looking to be in the middle of nowhere with a hot tub and beautiful views then this is the place to go. We saw northern lights from the hot tub which was a bucket list experience. The cabin is cosy, well equipped and very comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We have booked this tiny house far in advance because of my moms 60th birthday! My Mom, my sister and I had the most amazing time even though we had 3 days rain in a row! The house is perfect & Anton has checked on us several times! Its a perfect spot to stay in quiet and pure nature! We can definitely recommend the sand dunes which was our favorite spot! We even got the chance to see some nothern lights from the bedroom! Loved it & we can recommend this a 100%!

Really the BEST! Zoei was so helpful and went above and beyond. The location was gorgeous, serene and so beautiful with all the snow. She made sure we had everything we needed. She contacted me early and made sure that we arrived and all was well (because of snow). The house was super cute, with the loveliest natural hot tub so you can watch for the northern lights. She has a cute kitty who stops by too! We had such a fabulous time. I could go on and on, but hands down the very best AirBnB I have ever stayed at and the best host. Note: must have a 4x4 SUV during the winter! Do not try without that.

The owner responded fast on messages and questions. A problem with the supplied phone to open the gate was solved quick. The cottage was clean and warm enough for cold and windy Icelandic autumn climate. The hottub was great. Arrival during daylight is recommended, since it is surrounded by bushes, away from the road. Not easy to see from the road during Icelandic pitch black night time.

The home was absolutely stunning! Took advantage of the hot tub almost every night during our stay. The location was about 50 minutes away from Reykjavík, making it extremely quiet and peaceful. Gudrun was always quick to respond and super helpful whenever we had questions. The only things that my family had some issues with were the sulphur smell from the water and the water pressure of the shower. The pressure got progressively worse that by the end of the trip there was barely any water coming out. Regardless this place was an amazing experience and made our trip to Iceland 10/10!

We have visited Iceland several times. The standard of accomodation is excellent throughout the different areas we have stayed and this property did not disappoint! It was very comfortble and had everything we need for our stay. The host was very quick to respond when we ran into travel issues with the airlines due to bad weather. Very comfortable beds, warm and cosy and well appointed in both the kitchen and bathroom. It is far enough off the main road to be peaceful and quite but close enough to get to Reykavik for dinner and other attractions. Lovely views when the weather did clear a little bit. Would certainly stay there again!

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!
