Monthly Rentals in Roxtown

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage tucked away in the peaceful countryside. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed—surrounded by nature, birdsong, and the neigh-bouring donkeys! ;) The cottage itself was charming, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully decorated with cozy touches that made it feel like home. The bed was incredibly comfortable with extra blankets if needed. Plenty of towels provided, tea towels and basics in the kitchen. Great attention to detail. We were blessed with beautiful weather for our stay, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, recharge, and soak in the beauty of the natural surroundings. Our wee dog Darcey enjoyed herself and was secure in the outdoor space. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, offering great local recommendations while giving us all the privacy we needed. We can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for tranquility and charm. We’ll definitely be back!

It was a wonderful cottage and totally full of charm. Nicely decorated with some period pictures and items. The fire was a real focal point in the room and it made the place feel very warm and cosy in the evening. The kitchen was simple but had everything we needed and the rooms were big and comfortable with good sized beds. A smaller adult could actually fit on the cot bed in the main room if you were in a pinch. Only 5 minutes from a lovely quiet beach and perfect for anyone bringing their dog. The donkeys in the field opposite were very sweet and rubbed noses with our wee Labradoodle which was very cute.

Mary Carpenters Cottage was a magical place to stay. Warm, clean, peaceful countryside location, excellent local pubs & groceries. The host met us in person to explain how everything worked in this unique property & even provided plenty of snacks to welcome us. Even though the cottage was 200+ years old it had all the necessities for a homely stay including watching Netflix in the evening. Highly recommended!

What a pretty little slice of heaven - the true Irish experience. I’ll never get over the views out the front door as I did my work from the dining room table each day. Maura deserves an extra special shout-out (and hug). I ran into a small snafu my first night in town and she sat with me in the dining room and helped me make some calls until my issue was resolved. In my opinion, that goes way above and beyond the expectations of an Airbnb host. Whether she was around the property or not, she was always responsive. The cottage itself was a dream and within easy driving distance to Malin Head, Giants Causeway, etc. Triple five stars!
