Dougs place made our stay in Canoa relaxing and peaceful. We were 2 couples, there was lots of space for us to hang out. The kitchen was adequate to make breakfasts and lunch. Laundry was excellent, really appreciated having new laundry machines. Having the Canoa suites restaurant next door was very handy. It was a 1 km walk into canoa so easy to do for dinner. We felt safe. Thanks to Andrea for responding to our questions in a timely manner. Bosco the gardener was very helpful in securing coconuts and mangoes for us. The cleaning staff were fabulous.

The place is amazing. The location of the accommodation is super privileged. Ocean view with a forest surrounding you. Sunrise Bird Concert. Highly conserved the ecosystem. The cabanas are very comfortable as well as the kitchen and dining room. Well equipped. Because of the location, it is required to go by own car. Carrying provisions. In the winter, a lot of mosquito. Recommended to wear repellent. We will definitely be back!

I stayed in this house for 1.5 months and quickly realized my mistake in not booking it for the full 5 months I plan to spend in Ecuador. It’s one of the best houses I’ve stayed in, and I’ve traveled to 20+ countries and lived with 100+ hosts. The house is enormous—three floors, four rooms, a dedicated kitchen and living room floor, and a large terrace with stunning views of the mountains and ocean. The house is located at the very top, so other guests can’t see you, you can’t hear them, and no one disturbs you. There’s also a constant ocean breeze here. Throughout my 1.5 months, I kept the windows open, and not once did I feel heat or stuffiness. The fresh ocean breeze does its job perfectly. The house has everything needed for a long stay, and I even befriended a local cat who spent the whole time with me, coming in the evenings to sleep in my bed. This house is perfect—a true paradise. I’m already planning to return next year for 5 months!
