I spent a wonderful month in this location - it's clean and comfortable with good wifi for remote working - perfect for what I was after. Maria is a wonderful host who is always responsive and cleaned the place once a week while leaving me nice things for breakfast! She even gave me a lift to and from Catania (c.10km) with my heavy suitcase. Trecastagni is a pleasant town on the slopes of Etna with accessible supermarkets and other essential shops as well as a some nice bars and restaurants and several churches. This location is better for those with private vehicles as the buses to/from Trecastagni are somewhat unreliable and it is a walk of several miles to the nearest train station (Acireale). However for those with vehicles it offers good access to Etna as well as other attractions in the area such as Catania and Acireale.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful apartment, which actually feels more like an independent small house. Antonella was incredibly welcoming, greeting us upon arrival and taking the time to explain everything about the house. She had even turned on the air conditioning, so we were welcomed into a perfectly comfortable space. The house was spotless and looked even better in person than it did in the photos. It had all the comforts we needed for a relaxing stay. The host was very responsive throughout our visit, providing great recommendations for local sites and restaurants. One of the delights was the view of Mount Etna from the bedroom balcony. Even though the view is between two buildings, the sight of the volcano in the distance was absolutely stunning. The quiet neighbourhood offered easy parking, which was a big plus, and the historic centre was just a few minutes away, making it the perfect location for exploring. We would absolutely love to return. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay in this place! The tiny house is super cute and has everything you need for a short stay. Petra was a great host! She showed us how to make fire in the oven and had some interesting stories to tell about the Etna. Also, most of all, I enjoyed the closeness to the wonderful horses the most! They were beautiful and friendly and we did a really lovely ride into the beautiful surroundings. Petra made also sure, that our riding sessions met our level and wishes, so we felt safe and could enjoy the breathtaking nature around the Etna. Thank you Petra for this short but lovely time with you!

Perfect place to stay in a remote mountain setting. A peaceful time after frenetic Palermo. Walking around town and outside town for a short hike was just what we needed! No restaurants to speak of open during our stay (February) but had a fun time putting together meals between the butcher shop, bakery and grocery store. Beautiful outside sitting area to enjoy a sunny lunch! Impeccably restored and pristine. Definitely recommend!
