Guest house holiday rentals in York

We received very clear instructions from Selena and Peter to find the property, we didn't need to contact them for anything but it seemed very clear they were responsive and available if necessary while allowing us our privacy. The annex is a lovely, bright well decorated little space that is well equipped with cool features (skylights with blinds!) and doesn't feel remotely cramped. It's high quality in ways you don't always see in an Airbnb, like the fully tiled floor. Parking is well off from the road and spacious enough for several vehicles and the property is very close to some lovely walking routes along the river. Into York itself is a very short walk. We were only in York for a short time but would gladly have stayed longer. Thanks for having us!

We had a fantastic stay. The property is as described in the listing and located in a lovely peaceful village. The only problem is that we wished we had stayed longer than our 4 nights. The local park is great and we went down there most nights with our two daughters (11 and 8). It's a great base to explore York and the surrounding areas. If it's a sunny day would highly recommend visit to Filey. Wonderful walk along the fabulous sandy beach there. Park and ride nearby was very easy for York as well. Clean, convenient and compact. The accommodation was well equipped and well presented. It’s a compact and efficient space located within walking distance of Ilkley. Ilkley is a lovely Yorkshire town with great cafes, shops and restaurants. There is good walking from the accommodation and the Dales is a short drive away.

Sara and Tom we’re incredibly attentive and very helpful. They responded very quickly to my questions which allowed me to make the best out of our time in their gorgeous little abode. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and had excellent amenities. The coffee (kept in the fridge for freshness) was delicious and we received complimentary breakfast before we left for home. We were really pleased with the location. Thank you, Sara, Tom and Ted, for looking after us so brilliantly.

We had a lovely Easter break at the accommodation. Cute and comfortable little house. We liked the decorations, lots of nice touches. A view from the second floor is beautiful and peaceful. Bed was really comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Homemade bread and food for breakfast was much appreciated. Pru and her husband were super welcoming. Highly recommend for a stay.

Perfect stay at Kate’s from start to finish. Kate was helpful, friendly and responsive and even ensured I had a DVD player to watch my training videos. Lovely private spot and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend!

Great little peaceful place. Perfect for a weekend away. Really cosy, with everything we needed! Great location only a few mins walk from the town centre, great location for outdoor activities. We will be back! Thank you x

Would give the cottage and Kitty, our host, a million stars if we could! From the beautiful landscape to the cozy cottage, we loved every minute of our stay. Kitty recommended lots of great restaurants and shops in nearby villages which we enjoyed checking out. Their are walking trails right off the property. We spotted all kinds of birds, deer, and loved the horses and cows nearby. The cottage is decorated so lovely and having a fire in the evening was such a comfort. It's very clean and supplied well with kitchen utensils, coffee, etc. We were genuinely sad to leave! We hope to be back soon, if Kitty will have us! Can't recommend a stay here enough, you will have a wonderful time!

My daughter and I had a lovely stay. This is the second time I’ve stayed and would highly recommend. Karen is always friendly and attentive and we had everything we needed. The bungalow itself is cosy and spotless. We caught the bus to York both days which was easy to do and we had a great time in York. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again x

Great place! We were in Wakefield for an event at the Hepworth and this was super convenient (within walking distance). Andrew was super responsive and met us when we arrived and when we were leaving.

We spent a few days at The Annex over the new year period. The weather was shocking but we got a lovely warm welcome from Greg and the place was cosy and inviting. The location is perfect; it's so peaceful yet you can pop along to the village shop in a couple of minutes and there are friendly pubs to walk to. Holmfirth is just a five minute drive away. The Annex is a great place to stay and Greg and Mandy are right there if you need anything whilst respecting your privacy and leaving you to it. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning.

This is a beautiful AirBnB. The main bedroom is large with ensuite bathroom and the second bedroom is also a good size, with a bathroom being right outside. The living area is nicely set out and the kitchen is small but modern and well equipped (including washing machine and coffee machine). We appreciated the provision of handsoap and shower gel/shampoo/conditioner as well as washing up equipment, washing machine pods and coffee pods, along with some welcome food items. The parking area is spacious and it was very easy to check in. The location is excellent for taking in both York and the north Yorkshire moors and coast (Scarborough, Whitby) although you do need a car and there is relatively little within walking distance. There are free tennis courts almost opposite though! The children's play area was appreciated by our 5 and 8-year-olds, although note this is behind the carport for the owner's house, and adjoins their part of the property (not a problem but worth knowing) .

Comfortable bed and really cosy despite us visiting during a v cold snap, they were thoughtful in putting the heating on in advance for us. The kitchen is well equipped with an airfryer, microwave and kettle. Location very quiet and handy for Tesco and buses into Leeds or walking to Roundhay Park.

Easy to find and clear instructions, it was as expected. Spotlessly clean and ideal for my needs. Lovely village with nice walks and accessible to the moors and sites of interest.

Very warm, comfortable and quiet room, with thoughtful touches. Excellent kitchen facilities and dining room, all immaculately clean.

Great cheap & cheerful place to stay for access to Elland Road stadium which is why we were there. Plenty of room and nice & clean.

Georga's place is in a great location, within the city walls. Everything is easily walkable. There are some great cafes and restaurants in the immediate area. The accommodation itself is very stylish and comfortable. We know York well so didn't need any advice or tips from Georgia, but she was happy to have helped had we needed it.

Beautiful stay, very peaceful and private. Alison was very lovely and welcoming, gave clear instructions where to drive and park and greeted us when we arrived. The little house is a perfect little stay for one or two nights and the big garden was great for letting the dogs out. Will definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely hidden get away.

This is such a charming guesthouse. Very bright and spacious as well as spotless and cosy. Mick was great. He provided us with detailed instructions on how to find the place and gave us a little tour when we arrived. He even provided us with milk, bread and fruit. I would love to stay here again.
