Holiday rentals with a patio in Hilo

Second time staying at this property and it’s a lovely experience and lovely area off the beaten path. Very quiet and clean. I’m appreciative of the hospitality that both Sharon and Stephen showed me. Will be going back for a 3rd time in the future.

Robynne’s apartment was comfortable, clean, and as described. Robynne and Dave are friendly hosts and went out of their way to make us comfortable. When we asked about a wine opener/corkscrew, they immediately borrowed one for our use and purchased one the next day! We appreciated the many extra treats provided, especially the local fruits. Nice walkable neighborhood with ocean viewing opportunities. It’s a short drive to the big 2018 lava flows and 40 minutes (or longer with traffic) to get to Hilo from there, also about an hour drive to Volcanos National Park.

We had a great stay. Beds were so comfy. Best ones during our whole trip. Jenny was responsive and helpful. Location is great. 5 min drive to a lot of restaurants as well as the farmers market. Would def recommend and stay again. Mahalo Jenny!

The condo was well appointed, comfortable and squeaky clean. Excellent lanai for morning coffee and dining. Comfortable bed, and nice extras like beach chairs and a cooler. Communication was lightning fast, friendly and informative. Convenient location to all Hilo has to offer.

We had a wonderful time at the Banana Cabana. It exceeded all of our expectations. We are the types who go out and explore all day, and just want to come "home" to a comfortable haven. This was just that. It was a little paradise of birds, nature, and quiet. You couldn't even see neighbors, if there were any. Some might need night life, but we don't. In our little private lanai, we came home to a glass of wine and charcuterie to talk about the day. Morning coffee out there was wonderful too. I would rent this place again in a heartbeat. Oh, and while we really aren't beach types, we did drive down to the ocean (maybe about a mile or less) and watched the waves one evening (AMAZING). The cabana offers all the beach stuff necessary if that is your thing. All in all, we give this place a 10!!

This place was just what we needed for our stay. It was easy to get to the Volcano National Park, other sites and restaurants. I would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makuu Palms. The setting was beautiful, private (although you might have neighbors in the other side of the house), and convenient for our needs. The place was perhaps the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, and given the tropical conditions (including critters) that’s really saying something. It’s an easy walk to the ocean and although there is no beach the ocean spot is really special - we loved it. Michelle and her husband were kind, helpful, and respectful. We visit this area at least once a year, and Michelle’s place will be at the top of our lodging list. Looking forward to our next stay.

Amazing location and great hosts! Had a great time at Kathy's place - perfect spot to explore the east side of the island. It's close to downtown Hilo, and both Volcano National park and Mauna Kea are a little over 30 minutes away. Would definitely consider again. One word of caution, sensitive sleepers should bring earplugs - the house is in a residential area with plenty of wild chickens. They can get loud in the morning.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our time at the house. It had ample space and beautiful surroundings outside. We felt right at home here with everything we needed to cook together each day and even fun pool toys for our days outside. We would definitely return!

The Hilo Bay room and adjoining property was a wonderful experience! Everything was super clean and the hosts thought to include anything you could ever need. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean and soft. The bathroom was clean and spacious with good water pressure. We loved how quiet and peaceful the property was and it was only a 10 minute drive from Hilo. Great place and would stay again!

The pictures didn't do the house justice. It was an amazing home base for our family during our stay. The host was great to work with as well.

My family loved this stay! The called it “the jungle house” because all the jungle sounds surrounding you at night made you feel like you were in the middle of a rainforest. Beautiful home. Well stocked. The screened porch with extra seating was our favorite spot for games and conversation. The host was awesome with many local recommendations and extra details. Hope to stay again!

House is just like described on pictures, everything is new. We really enjoyed it. We got in the house without any issues with the key in the lock box . There is no AC but we didn’t really need it. It rained every night. It was nice and cool for us. We came in January. Neighborhood is nice and peaceful. We did hear dogs barking at night few houses down other than that it’s a quiet neighborhood.

My friends and I had the best stay here! Incredibly peaceful and private setting which had us feeling rested taken care of. Instructions were clear and place was filled with character. The hosts put a ton of effort into making the experience the best it could be!

I have never had a place we stayed where it was so hard to leave. This place was amazing for our family. The pool was worth gold for us with the fun lights that could be changed and waterfall too. The house was very clean and comfortable and kitchen had everything you could ever need for cooking a meal with beautiful lanai with BBQ too! Kimberly was very communicative and responsive with local and other island recommendations. Absolutely wonderful place that I would highly recommend!

Our stay was great! Tisiphonie was extremely helpful! We had all the extras included in the stay. I would highly recommend staying at Tisiphonie’s place if you’re on the East side of the island!

The place was as shown, very clean, relaxing and quiet. They were very responsive. What makes it even better is they have a full size refrigerator, pots and pans, and stove. I was able to cook my own meals which a plus for me. No AC but they installed a good quality ceiling fan that is more than adequate. I’ll look for this unit next time I’m in town.

I loved the balcony, listening to the birds chatting and you're not too far from downtown.

Great place, literally paces from a BEAUTIFUL lagoon and beach filled with turtles and fish. Nice quiet road dotted with 4 or 5 beaches/parks, and about a 3 mile drive to the shops/grocery stores to keep the kitchen stocked. Also had a French press so we could enjoy our fresh Kona coffee every day.

Concierge service amidst a natural lagoon setting with all the amenities one can just enjoy a worthwhile experience from the two lanais!

Modern unit with a pool that’s close to Ola Brewing Co.

This is a unique, older complex and the units are efficiencies that come with a nice size patio. We were there in February and enjoyed sleeping at night with the cool night air blowing through the screen patio door. Once you get used to the area noises, it makes for good sleeping. What is nice is that the place comes lightly stocked, or they leave the donated items from other guests for future guests. I would rate this a 2.5/3 star accommodation, but very clean. It does not have central air, but it does have an external source to cool the unit. The building’s small laundry room was convenient and clean. We did not use the pool as the water was in need of a good shocking. There is a golf course that borders the back of the complex with a walking trail to the ocean. The people we met in the complex were friendly and helpful. Downtown Hilo is just five minutes away. We enjoyed our stay here and would return again.

This place is so cute! So comfy and nice and the pool is great. A lot of amenities in the apartment and close/convenient to the airport and shops. And they’re so nice.

This condo unit was exactly what we needed for our short stay in Hilo. We loved the mature trees and foliage right outside the windows and the space. The check in and check out process was easy with explicit instructions. The unit had everything we needed and then some.
