Holiday rentals with lake access in Derbyshire

Such a rare find in such a beautiful location. We loved having nature on your doorstep and enjoyed how peaceful the surroundings are. The cabin felt like a home aways from home and the whole family enjoyed it, especially the dog. We were even lucky to see a few calfs that were only a few hours old in the barn.

Booked Sophie’s place for my Groomsmen to stay the day before my wedding. Such a beautiful home that they have. Everything was spotless, the location was quiet and the one thing I enjoyed was the speakers in the shower room :). Sophie was very responsive and always helpful with my queries and questions. Wow! Absolutely stunning, welcoming & immaculate home from home. Afra was an attentive host, who responded quickly, kept in contact with me, sent all the relevant information we needed & made sure we knew to contact her if we needed further assistance. Afra was kind enough to also leave us some biscuits & chocolate with an 'all you need to know' folder, which was so very thoughtful. Myself & 3 other very tired Momma's were in desperate need of a mini vacay that was not too far from home, close to the city & also Clifford Day Spa. Both were only a 12 minute Uber away, so this was absolutely perfect for our needs. The house has 3 levels with 4 beautiful double bedrooms, each with their own ensuite... & all spotlessly clean! The kitchen diner is stunning & the lounge is super comfortable. This property was everything we could have hoped for & more! We left feeling refreshed & energised to go back to our daily reality. We highly recommend Afra as a host & most definitely will return.

We've been to Youlgreave a few times and always love it here. The location of the cottage, right by the river, is unbeatable. We found the accommodation great for toddlers - there was a highchair, the stairs weren't freely accessible, and the living area was pretty much childsafe (all aspects that meant our holiday was as relaxing as it can be with young children). Highly recommend. Would love to be back someday!

Overall great weekend with family - us, 4 children, wives, partner and 5 grandchildren. Games room was a great success with teenagers and men, probably a bit noisy for the neighbours 😂. Well equipped kitchen but didn’t find instructions for hob and oven until tidying up Sunday night. We’d worked it out between us in the meantime. Could do with a few tips in house manual. Lake and canoe a big hit. Hot tub took over 4 hours to get up to temperature - why wood burning when there is electricity? Beds comfy and all rooms very spacious. Lounge/sunroom fabulous space. We would return if Neil would have us.

My stay at Foxt Cottages was nothing short of spectacular! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with rolling hills and lush greenery providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing escape. The private swimming lake was a highlight, offering serene views and a refreshing dip right at our doorstep. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped, making it easy to unwind. For our little one, the activities were a hit—plenty of outdoor fun to keep them entertained while we soaked in the peaceful vibe. The hosts were warm and attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. If you’re looking for a tranquil retreat with stunning landscapes and family-friendly amenities, Foxt Cottages is a must-visit! We’re already planning our next stay.

Where do I start with this review? Chris is one of the most genuine, caring and wonderful people you will ever meet! He saved us from a horrific amount of stress whilst holidaying in Mexico! For some background we had to move out of our home just before going due to an internal soil pipe leak and had been living between parents and hotels just before our family holiday of a lifetime. Whilst we were away the insurers and loss adjustors agreed signed off for a long stay or let meaning we then had to try and find somewhere whilst we were on the other side of the world! I dropped Chris a message and just WOW… What a guy, if it wasn’t for him we’d have likely ruined what remained of our holiday. His place is stunning, so homely and in a beautiful location - everything you need on your doorstep with the most incredible host! It is not a shock Chris carries a 5 Star rating and it is well and truly deserved, do not hesitate and book or reach out! You won’t be disappointed, thanks Chris! 🫶

We stayed there for 3 nights, this place met all our expectations. As described on Airbnb. And the price is reasonable. Parking in front of the door, so convenient and the host is always reachable. Will stay here again if we visit Nottingham next time.

Absolutely stunning cottage! Made our wedding even more magical having such a perfect place to stay.

Warm, comfortable lodge in peaceful position overlooking small, lovely wetland area. Very well appointed with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. Easy access for me with my bad knee and flat, pretty walks around the area. Simon is easy to communicate with and we loved our stay. Thank you Simon - and the welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated.

Had a fantastic weekend here and would thoroughly recommend. the cottage was beautifully appointed and the log fire made it super welcoming and relaxing. Emma has thought of everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

My friend and I had 3 lovely days at Chew Cottage. It’s in a beautiful area, with local pubs and fabulous walking. The house is quirky and as described. Lovely little garden and house was very cosy. Jeanne was pro-active in responding to a problem with the Tv signal, arranging for the aerial to be repaired the next morning. As an Airbnb host myself, I appreciated the facilities and good communication. Lots of free on street parking nearby I .e. Just across the road.

Wonderful space to stay, very spacious and clean. Excellent hosts. Will definitely stay again.

We are a Family of 4, two young girls, 7 & 9. The house did not feel cramped for space with an extended Kitchen/Diner. Both Bedrooms were spacious, with more than enough cupboards/shelves etc. for clothes. Short drive from Buxton & Castleton, made a very pleasant Easter stay with Hiking Mam Tor and visiting the Blue John Caverns.

Absolutely perfect! The house and location were both fabulous with views over Carsington Water. The house was immaculate and so well presented. Comfy beds and crisp, white bedding. Communication with Pamela before and during the stay was super easy including helping with tips of where to visit while we were there. Really sad to leave this morning as we could have happily stayed for another week 🤩 Thank you Pamela, we’ll be back one day! ❤️
