Castle holiday rentals in Ireland

We had an absolutely magical stay in Peter’s castle. What a genius! Loved the tour of the castle and meeting Peter’s lovely family. They even offered to bring us back chocolate from the store! The space was even nicer than we imagined. So many amazing touches. Book this castle for an unforgettable experience!

Our stay was wonderful—the most relaxing night we’ve had in Ireland thus far. We were met with an offer of tea, shown to a lovely room with access to the bell tower—perfect for yoga, meditation or reading—then on our own to relax and explore Athlone I had some dietary considerations for breakfast, and our hosts were very kind and accommodating, serving a lovely meal that suited us perfectly. Thoughtful details such as tea upon arrival, great linens, and fantastic decor made our stay in this redone chapel really special, and we appreciated it very much!

We had to ask for an early check in and the host was extremely accommodating. I never felt like I was inconveniencing her which I greatly appreciate.

Alan described it just well. Gregg was exactly what I thought it would be. We chose this stay because of the charm that we knew it would offer. Thank you again Alan and I wish you the best in your next venture. Hopefully we are able to return when everything has transitioned. Will be amazing to see it.

Our stay was absolutely perfect - the castle is such a gem in a stunning location. The castle was homely and had everything you could ask for and more. Everything was spotless and in its place. We came with our extended family and we were all blown away by how wonderful the castle was. I would recommend anyone to stay at this beautiful location. Thank you Mary for a wonderful time.

100% worth it. This isn’t just an accommodation, it’s an experience. The castle is very private, and we had it to ourselves for most of our stay. It was 1000x better than the pictures; beautiful, spacious, and comfortable room. The view from the rooftop was gorgeous, and the museum downstairs with all the artifacts found in/around the property was such a cool touch! Daphne and Louis’ attention to detail was astounding with little fun facts posted around the castle. Not to mention the superb breakfast!

We were blown away by how beautiful and unique our stay at Wilton Castle was! The drive in through the gates are like a step back into time, filled with anticipation as you get closer to the beautiful architecture! The suite itself is enormous with tons of room to spread out, high ceilings, and spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom has a unique theme which really brings out the character. There are beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and the working farm right next door. We were delighted to be watch the dairy cows file in for milking and to observe the skillful border collie. The grounds themselves are a delight to explore with beautiful trees, enchanting old ruins, and picturesque river winding its way through the property. It was amusing the watch the local ravens gather materials for their nests in the ruins of the castle tower. Certainly a stay that will last long in our memories. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! We definitely hope to stay again!

Our second visit to Glenville was also something special: a different time of year and other wonderful impressions in the park, which we continued to explore. And Dare was a pleasant conversationalist and substitute host. We felt very comfortable and discovered new things. The journey through time in Glenville was a special highlight on our trip through beautiful Ireland. And Silvia: Maybe we'll get to know you sometime.

It was a dream come true to stay at Kilshanny Castle. We loved having the castle and grounds all to ourselves. It was so nice and convenient to be able to cook a meal together in the fully stocked kitchen. Although the castle is very authentic, we appreciated the hot water for showers and the toilets. It was my daughter’s 11th birthday and we celebrated by dressing up in the medieval costumes and took pics and stayed up till midnight so she could open her birthday presents. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience for my husband, myself and my children.

My husband and I had a great time staying at Claregalway Castle. We were in the Abbey room which was very private and did not share walls with any other rooms. It was nice to sit in the bed and have windows in front and both sides. The room and bathroom were extremely large and the heating in the floors really heated up the room quickly. The staff was friendly and nice. There is a continental breakfast that had some pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, and cereal. It was plenty for us. When you stay there, you get a tour of the castle on site. We got lucky and could see every floor. There is an actual room for rent in the castle so if it has guest, you won’t be able to see it. This was a unique stay that I recommend.

This was easily the highlight stay of our trip. The castle is genuinely stunning and magical. The hosts were absolutely friendly and so passionate about the property! Not only was the room decorated with so much intention, but the entire grounds, too! I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be back for SURE!

This is a love song to Atherlow Castle. Our family of 6(all adults) stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave. We truly felt at home. There’s plenty of space for everyone to have their privacy in the castle but there was still such a comfortable feeling. The grounds are lovely, with the nicest looking herd of cows I’ve ever seen peacefully grazing on impossibly green grass. Freda and Declan were quintessential hosts! Friendly and unobtrusive with adorable bouncy dogs. The area, as described by a local tea shop owner we struck up a conversation with, is real Ireland not tourist Ireland. All of the major sites are within driving distance but the local area has hidden gems. We have stayed in wonderful Airbnbs all over the world but Atherlow Castle won my heart.

The castle staff were personable and so lovely, with plenty of time for us during our stay. The check-in was smooth and friendly, and it was a highlight of our trip down the west coast. We have already recommended the place to friends and will likely do so again. Excellent stay.

Gorgeous historically accurate castle with modern renovations, conveniently located 15 minutes from Galway, and situated on a beautiful river with exceptionally friendly staff. Included a perfect continental breakfast as well as a free tour of the castle, including the reconstructed tower. Modernized windows make the bedrooms virtually soundproof.
