Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Somerset

We just got back from a lovely stay at The Piggery for 3 nights. It’s a lovely peaceful location with indoor pool, gym and outdoor tennis court. The cottage was well appointed and even had tennis rackets supplied for both adults and children, some games and book and a clothes airer. Outside was nice garden furniture and a bbq even though we didn’t get the opportunity to use it. We loved that we had a private hour in the gym and pool each day (booked through a system to ensure you are the only users) and we enjoyed the tennis just opposite the cottage. When we managed to leave our spa fob inside the spa and couldn’t re-access to retrieve it the owner was responsive and the neighbour was helpful too. We would absolutely stay again if we are back in the area, and will recommend it to friends and family.

The Barn was the perfect find for our trip! We had a wedding 10 minutes down the road and it was the perfect location for that. It was clean & really gorgeous, the fire next to the bed is a nice touch & the bed was super comfy & clean. We loved waking up to the natural daylight & the views are really beautiful. The only thing I would say is definitely pre book taxis if you’re staying in the area and do your research on where to go, there’s WiFi but no signal. Celine was a fab host though with lots of recommendations provided & readily available to answer to questions.

I stayed here for several weeks for a placement at the hospital and the apartment had everything I needed. The location was perfect for both the hospital and train station.

Cosy cottage with everything you need provided. When you wake up in the morning there is a stunning view of the Mendip Hills and a field full of ducks, chickens and goats. June was a very helpful host providing lots of local dining options. There is a lot to see and do in easy driving distance. The hot tub was also a real treat. Fantastic value for money - highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at Suzanne's place; it was very clean and tidy and had everything needed. The facilities were excellent, and it was nice to use the pool and gym; there were lots of local walks, which often conveniently ended near a local pub. We would love to stay again.

The Potting Shed is the perfect place to stay. The accommodation is well laid out and tucked away. Sam and Karen are friendly hosts but respect your privacy. We enjoyed sitting in the orchard area and were lucky with the weather. We walked to The Leather and Lace pub (10 min walk through the village), where we enjoyed a delicious burger. The pub is so interesting, full of retro accessories. The beer was well kept too. We enjoyed walking in the local area, visiting Glastonbury and walking further afield. Thank you Karen and Sam for your warm welcome and our generous goody basket, milk and local apple juice. We would definitely like to return. Mel and Simon

Thank you for an excellent stay. William js an excellent host and communicated well the whole way through. Perfect location to explore Wells and the surrounding area. House is as shown in the photos. Easy check in and the added bonus of private parking. Highly recommend staying here

The only thing would be that the pressure from the shower was a bit low and it would have been grater if it was a bit higher, expect from this everthing was fine with the stay and we had a lovely time at the plece I would recommend for a break out with the family or friends.

I don't think you could ask for a better location! The storehouse is located in a beautiful little village, Oare and surrounded by miles of rolling hills. It is just so peaceful and we didn't see many people all weekend. We highly recommend the walk from the storehouse to Glenthorne beach. We had the beach to ourselves! There is also a tea room, just up the road called The Rambler's Rest tea room. The food in here was lovely, and again can be walked to along a lovely public footpath right from the door step of the storehouse. The storehouse itself is exactly as shown in the pictures. Really nicely decorated, tidy and clean. Our hosts were lovely and baked us a delicious homemade lemon cake. We will definitely be back!
